Any suggestions for jeans for the truly petite?

I'm 4ft 11in and always used to buy "short" jeans from Marks and Sparks but they suddenly seem to have made them longer.

Everywhere I've tried seems too long - does anyone had any ideas of petite jeans which really do come up shorter? I'm useless at sewing so can't turn them up myself.

At 5'0" the 27" leg from M&S fit me fine, but I've also had some from Debenham that fitted well but were too long. Rather than properly turn them up, I ran a couple of lines of stitching around the bottom at the length I wanted (with a sewing machine, admittedly) and then cut them half an inch below the stiched line. Then they fray a bit around the bottom, but it doesn't go back too far.
Actually, now I look at them (wearing them just now) I could proabbly have got away without the stitching, as they haven't frayed far back at all, and they're well worn and washed.

I bought a pair in Matalan recently

you could try Lands End, they have lots of different leg lengths for some items

it's a real pita though
