I'm interested to see what other people wear. Me and DH always seem to be overdressed!Last month went to a reception at a posh country house and everyone apart from bridal party in jeans and t-shirts. Dh had suit on and I had skirt and heels

If most of the evening party have also been at the actual wedding, I find that they tend to go a little more casual in the evening after having been smart all day. Smarter jeans and a smart top is the most casual I have seen though and jeans and a shirt for men. However, I don't think you would look out of place in skirt and heels as you do get a mixed bag especially at a 'posh country house' the posher, the more mixed iyswim

I'd wear trousers, a nice top and heels. I'd feel wrong wearing jeans to a wedding, but I haven't been to one for years so might be the done thing now.

I agree about not feeling right wearing jeans to a wedding, i just can't do it! I'm a bit out of touch myself having not really been out much further than the local pubs the last couple of years. Trousers and a smart top is a good compromise.
