AIBU to be seriously considering buying, gah I can hardly bring myself to say it, bodysuits?

I just can't do high waisted jeans/trousers and am sick of constantly being worried about flashing crack when out in the park etc. So I thought maybe a bodysuit with a proper top over it might work?

But it just feels so wrong.

why? i'd quite like one too, though hope to find one that's a little longer than usual.

they keep your tum in too

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/03/2009 09:04

I think I am scarred for life by the memory of one of my mums friends in the early nineties who would fasten them over leggings.

But yes long would be essential, I don't want it to rub iyswim.

YANBU to consider it but it is not an easy look to pull off, unless you are Kate Moss-esque!

Ewe · 25/03/2009 09:06

Oh proper top, didn't see that bit! Must read OP's properly! That sounds ok then.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/03/2009 09:06

Oh I would wear a slightly looser top over it, definitly.

CMOTdibbler · 25/03/2009 09:08

I used to do that all the time, and it made a really good base layer that kept everything nice and smooth.

If you find any, let me know !

flowerybeanbag · 25/03/2009 09:09

I seem to remember major VPL was a problem... As well as being v uncomfortable.

misdee · 25/03/2009 09:11

i had coviently wiped them from my memory.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/03/2009 09:11

That's a point, where would you get them?

I found this but want something more plain, and without an inbuilt bra.

This brings back horror stories of people forgetting to do them up again after having been to the loo. And didn't they always ride up? I guess it;s okay if you are short in the body.

TrillianAstra · 25/03/2009 09:14

By the way that link doesn;t link.

Lawks · 25/03/2009 09:16

Oh god. No. Don't you remember all the contortions in the loo trying to fasten those bloody crotch poppers? And then it would dig in, in the most undignified places. And then you'd have one too many and forget to fasten it and come sauntering out of the loo with the back bit flapping gaily in the wind.

DO YOU NOT REMEMBER???

Lawks · 25/03/2009 09:17

YABU

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/03/2009 09:17

this one is really nice

MmeLindt · 25/03/2009 09:18

How about a long vest? That is what I wear.

MmeLindt · 25/03/2009 09:21

Like this

You could do what DS does and tuck your vest into your pants.

CMOTdibbler · 25/03/2009 09:23

Those M&S ones are very squashy. OK for special occasions, but not comfy for everyday

American Apparel seem to have some like I was thinking of

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/03/2009 09:27

ooh thankyou, they do indeed

I like this

and the model looks like bitoffun, hehe

and this, but the leg is cut a bit high

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/03/2009 09:28

mme lindt I have long vests but they always ride up!

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 25/03/2009 09:28

That actually looked pretty sexy, DWP.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/03/2009 09:29

and this one looks nice and comfy

But could I bring myself to own a 'romper'

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/03/2009 09:30

and this one could be worn with sluchy trousers/jeans without anything on top

OP posts:
MmeLindt · 25/03/2009 09:30

They were better. The M&S ones look a bit restricting.

Wolford do them, I think. Do you get Wolford in UK?

MmeLindt · 25/03/2009 09:33

Yes, Wolford, but they are very pricey.

I haven't bought anything from their undies range, but their tights are great.

TrillianAstra · 25/03/2009 09:34

That grey one doesn't look like it opens, so you would have to take your trousers off to have a wee.

The two-colours one looks alright (if a bit 80s) but please don't get it in that beige-blue combination!
