What colour handbag do I need with my new coat?

Have just purchased a new coat which is a bright green colour and V. V. different to what I usually wear (black ). My usual handbags are black which just don't look right next to the coat (poss because they're a little shabby). My most favoured bag though is a bright blue, which I have been informed by my mother should never be worn with green.

So, any advise ladies with style, which colour bag I should be looking for? And anyone wish to recomend any (needs to be big enough to slip a nappy and packet of wipes in)

Thank you

Your mother is wrong.

If the bright blue bag is the same tone as the green of your coat it will look devine.

I agree with tim

Agree the blue could well look fabulous if tones are right.

Also a nice tan/caramel colour could work (and would go with lots of stuff).

My baby bag and work bag are both caramel coloured, and go beautifully with my beloved green trenchcoat.

Thanks ladies. Did think was I really going to take fashion advice from my mother?

Will stick to my gorgeous blue bag

Navy blue may look nice too? Blue and green is good enough for mother nature, the sky and the grass, so good enough for us!!
