Any recommendations? I can't wear open toed anything because I have crap feet and am probably a bit old for ballet pumps. My favourite look atm is is bit like the picture with this skirt. I'm a recent convert to skirts, having lived the previous 40 years in jeans, so need all the help I can get

I'm usually good at shoe hunting, but I specialise in killer heels which is not what you are after obviously.

BarStoolCobra · 25/03/2009 11:16

I can't find any.
I presume this is for casual daywear? Are we talking work?
I like the idea of the wedges but eww to plastic.

worriedfriend2 · 25/03/2009 11:16

DH would think he'd died and gone to heaven if I got those ones TDWP

DEpends on your style really - lower heeled mary janes would look nice with A line skirts and tights but I think that this time of year is one for jeans maybe?

Nontoxic · 25/03/2009 11:18

So when do you have to stop wearing ballet pumps?
(Paranoid 45 year old.)

worriedfriend2 · 25/03/2009 11:18

Yes to work but not formal IYKWIM. I love killer heels but I've got to be able to walk a fair distance in them, so not massively practical. Can the over forties really wear ballet pumps??

worriedfriend2 · 25/03/2009 11:34

Those are nice.

are these nice or nasty?. Would you have to wear them without tights??

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/03/2009 11:34

Those suede ones are fugly.

BarStoolCobra · 25/03/2009 11:34

yes like those too
depends if you are happy in flat with skirts

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/03/2009 11:35

Those monsoon ones are nice, it is acceptable to wear a small peep toe with tights.

BarStoolCobra · 25/03/2009 11:35

i like 8.5cm heel though

worriedfriend2 · 25/03/2009 11:36

Love the first and second Fly ones, Clarks ones are interesting and Rocket Dog ones are fab - not too young? Can you tell I have a paranoid fear of appearing mutton??

OP posts:
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 25/03/2009 11:37

No no not at all. Rocket Dog are incredibly comfy too, lots of padding!

BarStoolCobra · 25/03/2009 11:41

worriedfriend2 · 25/03/2009 11:54

OK, am going to order a few of these and try them out.

Any recommendations for a coat/mac to wear over said skirts?

OP posts:
Fimbo · 25/03/2009 13:14

Mac, not sure about the pouch though - Lol

worriedfriend2 · 25/03/2009 15:53

That's nice too - excellent. Do you think it matters that it hasn't got a belt?

OP posts:
Fimbo · 25/03/2009 15:57

Belted macs are for the slim folk (of course you may be one of those). I am also ample in the norkage dept and a belt just looks wrong.

Fimbo · 25/03/2009 15:59

P.s. For some weirdy reason Lands End usually manages to hit the spot when it comes to winter jackets or macs, but they get it wrong on so many levels with their other clothing.

worriedfriend2 · 25/03/2009 16:03

'Fraid not, I have no norks but equally I have no waist either, so I'd just look like a mac-covered telegraph pole tied in the middle. You're right, no belt is the way to go . And IKWYM about Lands End - there was a gorgeous coat that someone linked to a while back but I didn't buy and regretted it.

OP posts:
Fimbo · 25/03/2009 16:09

LOL at mac coloured telegraph pole
