I am

  • 27yo
  • sz12
  • 32F norks
  • good waist
  • average tummy (eg not pancake flat but not muffin overspill either).
  • 5'7"
  • My upper arms are ok but would prefer something short sleeved (cap sleeves).
  • I can also wear halterneck but NO strappy spaghetti type tops please
  • Colours I'm quite flexible but no pastels please. Bold colours such as turquoise suit me.
  • I'm dark haired, dark eyed and fair skinned.
  • Budget unlimited

Thanks

I like the shape of the sunglasses one and could get away with it, I think but the colour is a bit wishy washy

I have a similar figure too oxocube (but with a bit more of a tummy!) so well aware of the big boobs problem.

I think with opaque black tights and a scoop neck dress that isn't too low cut you don't look too slutty but you do need to try on the dress as the extra breast can make them too short in my experience (hence why I only window shop online )

With the halternecks, boobs are going to look pretty big but they are knee length and with a cardi, big belt etc I think it can look sexy without too slutty.

I personally think that it is best to work with your breasts as I find that covering them up tends to leave things either hanging off them - making me look pregnant - or just silly and still massive, just hidden iyswim. A strap top under dresses is my friend on these occasions .

Good luck OP, it's a thankless task trying to find the "perfect" dress whatever your figure! Let us know what you get.

How about this then?
Probably good for big bust

mrsruffallo · 24/03/2009 21:02

My friend has this one is grey and its lovely. Altho its empire line, its v flattering as it skims over tummy area so doesnt make her look bigger than she is if that makes sense! Also - the sleeves are not too frilly either!

here

FigmentOfYourImagination · 25/03/2009 09:33

Oh I really like that Ollie. What length is it ?

OP posts:
FigmentOfYourImagination · 25/03/2009 10:00

I like this but it looks v short and topshop don't give lengths of things. I like the idea of this with pixie boots and opaques though

That kimino one looks lovely but bum skimming! The dress I linked to is on or just below the knee.

slug · 25/03/2009 13:12

I'm a big fan of ghost If you like a bold colour?

FigmentOfYourImagination · 25/03/2009 15:42

thanks slug

I've ordered this skirt as a maybe. I like the colours and the length is good, I think. I would wear with the obligatory opaques and pixie shoe boot things. What top though ? What do you guys think would work ? Would a fitted short sleeved black t-shirt type top look too plain with it or would it look understated chic given that the skirt colours and pattern are loud bold ?

In fact I may well start a new thread asking all those tulip skirt fans what tops they wear with theirs. [ponders]

Thanks again for all your suggestions thus far, v useful

btw - apologies as I realise I have linked to a skirt when the thread originally asked for a dress or top !

I think I'm wondering if separates are the way to go given that finding the right dress shape, fabric, colour and price is proving so flippin tricky

I love that skirt. I only wish I had the legs for it.

FigmentOfYourImagination · 25/03/2009 15:48

Thankfully my legs are passable enough to get away with it with opaques. I would never brave it tights-less though. Eeeek
