do comfortable bras exist? Help!!!

Am sufficiently pregnant that for the first time in my life I now need to wear a bra. Never bothered before because I'm normally flatter than the average 12 year old, and I find them abominably uncomfortable - no matter what size, I always find they make my back muscles get cramp. I have a big ribcage, but am skinny; cramp starts under shoulder blades and extends to whole back, arms etc. Have tried every bra size possible and nothing is comfortable.

Now that there's actually weight in the front of the bra, the back muscle problem is HUGE. Am REALLY uncomfortable... and lovely helpful nice shop assistants really don't seem to understand that it's my back that hurts and no I really don't want a rib-constricting push-up job made of tempered steel with itchy lace frills...

I just wear non-wired ones. You can get padded ones from John Lewis (to keep them warm!!) and I also have entirely non sexy old fashoined types that are comfy in other brands like Triumph.

thanks Wowooo, entirely unsexy unwired is absolutely fine, but i've tried them and they're still rpoblematic. Would also give anything to be able to go running without feeling like I've caught the norks under a steamroller...

I can't stand bra's either. Usually just wear a camisole or vest top. Yesterday I wore a new M&S vest top with secret support panel, it felt quite supportive to me and I am a 36c/d

non-padded, non-frilly serviceable and confrtable bras for those who are, ahem, not particularly blessed in the nork department can be found at next.

Sports bras very good if you don't mind looking flat as pancake then. Thye tend to dig in loads for me so I jsut leave the hooks bit undone.

Have you been measured by someone that knows what they are doing?

I had the same problem. I've got no chest at all, then I got pregnant and suddenly I had these things to deal with.

Try Mothercare. They sell bras designed for pregnancy and breast-feeding and will measure you. I got a couple that were 100% cotton, really soft and no wires or hard, sharp un-comfy bits. They also had hooks on the straps so when your feeding you just un-hook and go!

You want a Bravado bra - soft, comfy, laceless. Find a little lingerie shop run by a lady over 50 and they will sort you out

try the old fashioned triumph ones. they look horrible, but they feel comfy
