I want a big wrappy cardigan type thing, but one that will flatter size 14/16!

Does such a thing exist?

Often see glamourous looking women with those lovely big wafty shawl type things but I'm not sure I'm quite there yet (am 32, suspect it might add a decade or so not suit me).

Instead I want something a bit more cardigan-ish. (Hmm, now sounding more like 82, but cardigans are my all time faves )

Anyone know of anything that's shawl-y and big but won't make me look huge? It needs to be nice and non-synthetic, not hugely fussed about colour but something that might go with lots of things. Help!

Something like this maybe? I think it's best to stay away from chunky knits if you don't want to add inches. It's not non-synthetic but you could try one on just to see if the style suits you.

Another here at Marks and Spencers. And another.

Ooh, thanks Amandoh, love the first M&S one.

Just found [http://www.kew-online.com/fcp/product/womens-clothing/knitwear/Fabstretch-Drape-Cardigan/99900064 this] - do you think it'd be unflattering?

i dont think wraps do imo, they create a big LINE across your titolas that looks odd.

brimfull · 23/03/2009 12:15

if you're not huge of nork this is nice but £££

brimfull · 23/03/2009 12:18

not cosy but nice

oysterpots · 23/03/2009 12:28

Ooh, not seen that company before ggirl, thanks. It is nice but you're right, doesn't fulfil the cosy quota

I do love that Toast one but worry it might be a bit boxy and not v flattering.

Oh it's a hard one. I just want something that is warm and snug, that I can put on in the evenings (when it gets nippy on a summer day, that kind of thing) that isn't a coat.

Where are you, o wrappy one?

I have just bought this in purple. I don't wear it with the belt and its utterly soft and gorgeously warm without being bulky.

I just bought the Kew one - it's lovely. Very happy

Thanks for all your help x
