Is there a way of making shoes that are a size too big smaller?

I have an amazing friend who bought me a pair of shoes to cheer me up she is so thoughtful, the only problem is that the shoes are a whole size too big. I know she bought them online so can't take them back.

Are there thick insoles that could do the job?? Have googled but couldn't find anything..

Two pairs of insoles? I'm not really sure

Your friend sounds brilliant!

gigglewitch · 21/03/2009 21:36

erm, huuuge socks?!
how about you take them into the nearest scholl shop and see what they have in the way of insoles and heel grips?

WilfSell · 21/03/2009 21:37

Get pregnant? Works more on the making feet bigger kind of model.

Might be a bit drastic... perhaps cheaper to buy a new pair of shoes.

roffle wilf I agree that it was a bit of a drastic suggestion tho.

ha ha why not wash them eh, that will shrink em

Can you still get those things which stick in the back, I had them when I was a kid! Heel grips?

drinkmoretea · 21/03/2009 21:58

NN - she is amazing! I was thinking maybe two pairs of insoles!

GW - Don't think thick socks would look very attractive

WS - I think DH might have something to say about that!

BB - Heel grips alone wouldn't work...

Sounds like it'll have to be heel grips and insoles and socks???

heel grips, insoles, big socks (stripey of course) and an elastic band around them. that should do the trick

What a very attractive look

A mansize tissue in each toe.

'party feet' - those gel type things which are supposed to help with the pain of high heels. Worked for me when I couldnlt resist the shoes that didn't fit me! You might need to get these AND some insoles too if shoes a full size too big

Tissues in the toes.

What are the shoes like, and where are they from? Is it an online only shop, or an online version of a shoe shop?

Why can't you just tell her they are the wrong size and ask her to exchange them?

drinkmoretea · 23/03/2009 18:50

DSM - They are similar to Rocket Dog / Sugar typw pumps. She bought them in the sale online so not sure if they're returnable..

Do you know what shop they are from? Were they in a box?

If not, I would go for tissues in the toes.
