Please put Y/N next to them if you like or don't like them

"Lazing around" with a sleeping cat underneath
"Genius beyond my years"
"Monkeying around" with a picture of a gorilla/ape
"Cool dude" with a boy in sunglasses
"Born to be wild" with a zebra
"Welcome to my kingdom" with jungle animals
"To the rescue" with a fireman/policeman/paramedic
"If found please return to the jungle" with a hippo
"Chill out" with a fireman and hose
"My giraffe is very tall" with a giraffe
"I'm taller than you" with a giraffe
"King of the castle" with a sandcastle
"Wave rider" with the beach/sea
"Sunshine and rain makes a rainbow" with those pictures
"King of the jungle" with jungle animals
"Ice cool" with an ice cream/ice lolly

What for? Children's t-shirts?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 21/03/2009 10:01

I would buy my DC's any of those slogans, they are not offensive ina any way.

Hassled · 21/03/2009 10:01

The ??s mean I don't really get what you're on about - can't see how it is a slogan.

iwontbite · 21/03/2009 10:02

i wouldn't say yes/no to any of them. they're all perfectly inoffensive. I don't tend to really do slogan-y type stuff for the kids at all, but if someone gave me one of those I wouldn't stop them wearing it or anything

and I wouldn't bat an eyelid if I saw someone else with one

FigmentOfYourImagination · 21/03/2009 10:03

I agree with Hassled

EdwardBear · 21/03/2009 10:04

I usually dont like slogan t's at all and my boys only have about one each that i've found which are nice

out of yours i like

to the rescue
i'm taller than you
sunshine and rain makes a rainbow

i wouldnt go for any of the others

nettie · 21/03/2009 10:14

Don't mind any off them, but wouldn't buy them, I would much rather have have nice plain/stripey t-shirts/polo shirts for my dss. I would love someone to open a shop like the packs of felt pens you get that starts with one colour in differents shades them merges to next colour and so on, with long/short sleeved t-shirts, polo shirts and sweatshirts in all these colours, not a logo, slogan, skull. pirate, digger etc in sight

I think they'd make a fortune.

wotulookinat · 21/03/2009 10:18

I like them all. I like slogans, and I like animal pics on kids.

wotulookinat · 21/03/2009 10:19

And I like hippos. How about 'I like mud' with a hippo covered in mud?

MerlinsBeard · 21/03/2009 10:32

they are not slogans - slogans are things like "lick that napkin and i will ring social services" or "my dad's a wanker" (actual slogans on childrens clothes!)

KristinaM · 21/03/2009 10:34

sorry i dont like slogans so i dont like any of them

nappyaddict · 21/03/2009 10:37

Kristina - what about just the word of what the picture is. So zebra under a zebra or panda under a panda etc

OP posts:
iwontbite · 21/03/2009 10:41

what about no words at all? just a picture of an animal. i'd like that

ThePellyandMe · 21/03/2009 12:02

The are all ok but the only one I would consider buying would be "if found please return to the jungle".

I am just not a fan of slogans or pictures really. My ds's are 4 and 6 and I honestly think they are happier in bright colours more than anything else.

DS1 complained about his clothes being a bit dull so this year I've been making a real effort to get brighter stuff.

mimsum · 21/03/2009 12:13

No to all of them I'm afraid - I just don't like words on clothes. This is partly because ds1 will not wear slogans on anything - not even things like a small GAP or nike which makes buying clothes for an athletic 12 year old pretty tricky ...

I've always much preferred patterns, stripes or dots, but woven into the fabric, not printed, bright colours - both my ds have always loved colours like bright purple which you can hardly ever find for boys, occasionally simple applique eg stars, lightning flash

KristinaM · 21/03/2009 12:20

sorry nappyaddict, like the others i prefer bright plain colours or patterns like stripes

have just got striped t shirts from next in teh post today

my middle Ds is nearly 5 and would think a fireman ( firefighter?) t shirt babyish

ohdearwhatamess · 21/03/2009 12:36

'no' to all of them particularly 'genius...')

pictures of animals alone might be nice though

seeker · 21/03/2009 14:37

My ds had some lovely T shirts in primary colours with the name of the colour on the front in the same colour ink, if you see what I mean. Like a self colour embossing. They were really nice.

He also had some with "Boy" on them, and a couple with his name.

But generally I don't like slogans.

RUNFORLOVE · 21/03/2009 14:42

They've all been done before and too obvious.

I prefer designs too rather then pictures unless they're unsual or very cute.

I'm not really into slogans though

goodluck

Flamesparrow · 21/03/2009 14:46

stripes here too I'm afraid

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 21/03/2009 14:48

No to all sorry, I am sick of kids clothes with any kind of stuff on them.

I think there is a real gap in the market for really good quality, simple, unisex stuff that can be handed down and down and down.

(Oh and I know you can got it, but not enough imo.)

TabithaTwitchet · 21/03/2009 15:04

They are all Ok. But I would prefer just the pictures on their own (or no pictures at all). Maybe I am a bit boring, but I don't like words on clothes, especially when they seem to be put on there just for the sake of it and show no imagination (not saying your suggestions are like that!)
