due Sept. Thsi is my 3rd dc so from experience, I can still get into regular clothes until about 28 weeks (with a few tweaks as far as shape etc are concerned - empire good, obviously)

Hate, loathe and despise maternity clothes since they seem to assume that pregnancy instils you with a fondness for bland florals and neutrals

so... how do you like these 2 numbers for starters?

also available in black
and

also avail in a citrus-y green

Love the 2nd one. The orange one is a beautiful colour but not sure about the spaghetti straps - depends how good you feel about your upper arms and your boobs really.

I have good, toned arms, definitely no bingo wings, but big norks and quite wide shoulders so it would be a no go for me.

Nice if you've got a more boyish shape though.

LetThemEatCake · 19/03/2009 17:25

hi harpies

am fairly small up top, don't get boobs even when preg (sadly) quite slim arms etc .. dunno, think there are some pics on profile if you can be arsed, although they are non-preg ones from memory.

Am olive skinned so can hopefully get away with the orange??

LetThemEatCake · 19/03/2009 18:35

good lord no, have not bought anything in ages. Just need a few new things for summer since last summer's things are obviously not going to fit so well. So just shoes, a dress a two, maternity jeans, and a couple of tops. Hopefully that will get me through.

Definitely not on a permanent spree - have you not heard of the - (whispers) recession??

I do buy lots on sale I guess. Rarely full price. Am tight, me.

This dress was much admired on another thread and looks like it would be good for maternity wear.

missblythe · 19/03/2009 19:48

Lovely dresses, I personally prefer the Day one in green, which would look fabulous with your colouring

Will you be at your most pregnant while it's warm (or at least, meant to be warm?)

Both will look great with a fitted denim jacket and flipflops, or dollied up a bit with wedges etc.

LetThemEatCake · 19/03/2009 20:16

um, I guess so ... due end of September. So if past experience is anything to go by, I will have to move into kaftan territory by about early-mid July.

LTEC American Apparel is good for nice stretchy things, which will all look lovely on you cos you're all tall and slim and gorgeous

Happy shopping! not feeling jealous today, just a bit about having been so in the first place...

LetThemEatCake · 20/03/2009 17:39

you're really sweet sifuentes. I was just worried that I was coming across as a credit-card happy-spendthrift (not helped by my screen name I s'pose) when really, I am just trying to offset the drudgery of motherhood (don't get me wrong, I love it) by trying to look reasonably nice.

Not that it would matter if I were a credit-card happy-spendthrift but I know from previous threads that many MNers don't take kindly to frivolous attitudes to £££ and I tend to feel the need to defend myself!!

Were you perhaps on my thread about the change bag as well? If so, I do get press discounts (since I work in the press, duh) so only ever buy ££££ things when I'm able to utilise these.

Anyway, thanks for the tip re AA, will check 'em out!

You need a pair of greying, saggy arsed tracksuit bottoms and a variety of tops that are either too short, too tight or too hideous. And a tentlike dress. Nothing else required. Or is that just me?

MrsMattie · 20/03/2009 17:45

The second dress is lovely.

I bought a couple of nice, grown up looming day dresses from the H&M Mama range last year. You need to go to one of the bigger stores to get the full range, though.

Gap also do a few nice, classic maternity pieces like cardis, tee shirts and vests.

Can't go wrong with Isabella Oliver, either. I bought a couple of wrap tops and a wrap dress when I was about 4 months pregnant - pricey, but lasted me right until the end of my pregnancy.

MrsMattie · 20/03/2009 17:46

grown up looking

sifuentes · 20/03/2009 18:05

goddammit. Now I am again cos of your press discount!!!

Have a good weekend

drowninginlaundry · 20/03/2009 18:17

I bought a couple of things from here esp good for jeans

can recommend JBrand Love Story mat jeans, I wore them every day until a few weeks ago!

muppetgirl · 20/03/2009 18:33

anyone know where to get a good pair of maternity over bump jeans?

I have a pair of mothercare ones but you need a belt to keep them up (low rise with a large over bump section so look lovely and fashionable) and the belt is just to darn uncomfortable now.

I have a pair from M&P's from my 2nd prgcy that have a non adjustable panal that goes to the middle of my bump so just flicks down after a few hours and the elastic stretching so they fall down too...

LetThemEatCake · 20/03/2009 18:55

Oh H (laundry) - love it!! have never heard of them but totally fab - thank you!!!
