Mission impossible....

My mum is 89 and physically quite frail. She has very arthritic shoulders, and is finding getting dressed increasingly difficult, and is staring to spend the day in her nightie - which she doesn't like (she's still a stylish lady!) and which isn't good for her.

I was wondering about something kaftan-ish? It would have to open quite a long way down the front and be very loose around the armholes and shoulders.

She is short but a size 14/16 - so it would probably have to be taken up, and she wouldn't be happy in anything too "busy" patterned or bright. Or anything too twee. Oh and it would need to be in a very light fabric - preferably thin cotton or silk.

Have I beaten you all? I've certainly beaten myself!

Do you have a middle eastern or north african community anywhere near you? A djellaba might work (have a look on google for pics).
