I tried on this dress this morning and it looks fabulous on.

Please could you tell me all the places I could wear it.

to a viewing of 'abigail's party'?

bigTillyMint · 18/03/2009 14:04

It's a nice dress, but probably not for the school run - evening events?

pagwatch · 18/03/2009 14:04

You could wear it with a denim jacket to any evening thing - drinks or supper.
or you could wear it lying on the beach........ just as Daniel Craig emerges from the sea, dripping with sea water his tight shorts clinging to his thighs and caressing....

sorry. What did you ask?

LynetteScavo · 18/03/2009 14:18

Pagwatch you seem to be somewhat of an authority on maxi dresses.

So - would it be suitable for an evening wedding in Malibu? It's not too dressy is it?

Of course it would - perfect occasion

LynetteScavo · 18/03/2009 14:20

Or should I play safe and go for

this?

I can't belive I'm getting so stressed out about one dress!

perfect for an evening wedding. not too dressy just don't bling it up. Subtle accesories. It will be lovely

( yes I am an expert. I have no boobs and dodgy looking knees so they are perfect just now)

JustCallMeGoat · 18/03/2009 14:22

malibu - yes in fact it should be called 'the malibu' or something similiar. second one is nice but not v. malibu.

ShowOfHands · 18/03/2009 14:24

My DH bought a maxi dress for me very similar to the one in your OP but with straps as an early mothering sunday present. £14 from TK Maxx btw.

I'm wearing it to an August wedding and a July bbq (with a lot of MNers!). Will also take it on holiday with me in case of food out opportunities.

missblythe · 18/03/2009 14:27

No, no, no to the safe option! You must go maxi!

Would need gold leather flat sandals, and some discreet jewellery-maybe just a bangle and some earrings.

To stop it looking too dressy, I'd try and get a clutch bag either in basket-weave or maybe cork, rather than fabric or leather.

LynetteScavo · 18/03/2009 14:34

Thankyou - the decision is made. For me it's quite pricey, so I wanted to make sure I would get more than one wear out of it.

Pagwatch, I too have no norks and dodgy knees, which is why I've been thinking maxi dresses.
