Can I wear a maxi dress to wedding?

its this one already bought it
I really like it, looks ok on, dh and kids liked it. However, my mum says that it is too long to wear to a wedding. Its my sisters, very funky informal, in a castle. I am her witness. Mother in her wisdom says that as sisters dress is knee length I can wear anything longer than the bride. Her wedding dress is vivienne westwood couture though not from wallis! there will be no doubt that she is bride. Am stressing now and dreamt last night that I got the bottom of it trapped in an escalator.

I have frequently worn long dresses to weddings... I would be v shocked if anyone thought I upstaged the bride though! If it were white your mum might have a point but I really wouldn't worry

My mate wore one to mine and she looked fab. Though obviously not as fab as me - there was no doubt who the bride was.

That dress is lovely, you will look very pretty and not at all like a bride

I don't see anything wrong with wearing it, especially as it is such a gorgeous dress! (May have a sneaky peak in wallis' for up and coming wedding that I am going to)
