Bio Oil

In desperation at my increasingly dry and lines skin I bought some Bio oil from Boots. It's supposed to be more easily absorbed and will help combat scars and lines and helps with v dry skin. Am also using eye cream and some moisturiser under makeup.

Only used it since yesterday but my skin does feel softer and less tight.

Anyone tried this?

I got a free bottle of it and used it in pregnancy to avoid stretch marks- ha! I think it's only meant to help stretch marks once you have them anyway.

It absorbed really well and it's good quality stuff but I really didn't like the smell! My fave was Molton Brown Gingerlily shimmer oil, beautiful subtle smell and so easily absorbed and softening but it costs a bomb (pinched it from MIL!)and it is slightly sparkly so mot really for the face!!

MamacitaGordita · 17/03/2009 15:16

so not really for the face

LastOrders · 17/03/2009 15:23

I use this everywhere. If its dry or in need of some TLC I'll slap it on.

I use it on my face, but only at night (no DP to have to look sex kitteny in bed for!) but not every night, only as and when.

Its great on scars, and just gives the skin a bit of a lift when its knackered looking!

Also use it in DS bath if hes a bit dry.

Thanks.

I have got to the point of wanting to wear a mask all the time . CH doesn't help I know.

EachPeachPearMum · 17/03/2009 15:36

What make/brand please?
I need some for stretchmarks and c-sect scar...

OrmIrian · 17/03/2009 16:07

I can't remember the brand. It was just called BioOil. In a white and orange box, dicounted in Boots to £8.30 for a small bottle.

ooh its lovely! i am a recent convert and ,like lastorders, i use it on face and bodyu. worth the money imo

TheCrackFox · 17/03/2009 16:17

I put a few drops in my bath. It is a great time saver as I don't have to bother with body lotion.

bluebump · 17/03/2009 16:18

I put some on my face the other week too and it felt lovely, i'm trying the oil cleaning method at the mo too.

Jux · 17/03/2009 16:35

I love the smell. I don't use it on my face as it makes my eyes sting but everywhere else it's great. I put it in the bath too.

DD keeps nicking it.

woodenchair · 17/03/2009 19:11

I use it at night, but avoid using around my eyes, have found it too tight there so use an eye cream

It really plumps out my skin and make it feel really soft, love it

Furball · 17/03/2009 19:28

I;ve just started too! put it on quite librally after cleansing, then wipe off with cotton wool, cor the muck that comes off! it still leaves a film on the skin and I slap a thick layer of face cream. People have commented on how good my skins looking, but I'm not so sure. There seems to be an old hag looking back at me when I look in the mirror.

BikeRunSki · 17/03/2009 20:24

I love it. I use it as moisturiser on face, on hands, sprinkle on hairbrush and it is FAB for DS's ecezema. I use it in pg for on tummy, and didnlt get any stretch marks, and am now trying it on CS scar, although no joy so far.

Jeffa · 17/03/2009 20:40

I love it. I found some 'Rescue Oil' a little while ago though, which is basically the same, but only cost about 1.99 for a bottle the same size. I found it a bit less greasy and worked better on stretchmarks, but not as well on scars. The ingredients seem to be the same though.

hannahlouhoo · 17/03/2009 20:50

jeffa did you get it from home bargains? I also have a bottle which i think is brill!

Can i have a link for the oil cleansing method pls?

Jeffa · 17/03/2009 20:51

Yep Gotta love home bargains

Finbar · 17/03/2009 20:59

I love th stuff and have convinced myself taht it has helped my CS scar and the acompanying looseness of tummy!

Also worked wonders on my DS's scar on his chin after a particularly nasty fall.

spikemomma · 17/03/2009 21:00

What is home bargains? I am in NEED of some decent moisturising stuff! I haven't tried bio oil on my face - which currently feels like a reptiles bottom. I also need to sort out my stretch marks and c-section scar, which is giving me real jip at the moment - although it's not new. Help this old hag! What is in bio oil - is it 100% natural?

hannahlouhoo · 20/03/2009 22:03
