Hi all

i was thinking of having my eyelashes tinted. if i wear mascara in the day i always end up rubbing it and smudging it

has any one else had this done? does it look like mascara?

cheers

im a beauty therapist and do this all the time, it doesnt look like mascara because it doesnt build your lashes but it does make it darker and you will use less mascara

the best thing to do is to wear clear mascara over the top to enhance like a normal mascara would and if you do rub it off there will be no evidence! oh and plese get a patch test dont first, v important

steamedtreaclesponge · 17/03/2009 11:16

And be warned, it can sting your eyes if you get it done by someone inept

chuffinell · 17/03/2009 11:23

wow super quick response, thanks ladies. i may get it done just so they look a bit darker. i have never seen clear mascara before barbie1, can you get it at most cosmetic counters or is it a salon thing?

ruby - i cd wear clear mascara at work, then slap on the old black when i go out (not very often these days!)

thanks treacle - i will heed your warning!!

will report back when i have tried it!

yes and yes! Go for it.

I have pretty light coloured lashes and when I get this done, I can wear tinted moisturiser and lip balm and still look a wee bit "done".

Brilliant.

I've had this done a few times - mainly for holidays when you're likely to be swimming - it makes a huge difference to just have a bit of an outline to your eyes - and I can't bear mucking about with make-up during the day on holidays. it doesn;t look like mascara though, as osmeone else said - more natural than that. However I had a bad experience where my eyes were just streaming after it had been done. the woman was very apologetic and cleaned me up - I think she just hadn;t washed the excess off properly, but it really stung.

PestoSunshineMonster · 17/03/2009 11:32

I always get mine done before I go on holiday. It saves having to wear make-up during the day. Brilliant!

clear mascara you can get anywhere....collection 2000 is the best and the cheapest as the therapist for damp cotton wool and sit up and wipe your own eyes after.....that way you are sure to get it all out

Flibbertyjibbet · 17/03/2009 11:49

I've had this done a lot in the past cos I've got ginger eyelashes.

It looks fab for the first week or so - not like mascara if you like the 'big build up' effect though.

If you have blonde/ginger eyelashes you can see it growing out as eyelashes fall out and new ones in your natural colour come through. So although they say it lasts 6 weeks; at the end of 6 weeks it was usually still only on about 2 lashes.

Its good for holidays though. And it stings like hell if even the teeniest bit gets in your eyes, and you can't just jump up and wash it off till you're done.
