I really like it, the length (if you have seen pictures) is long but I would prefer just under knee length.

Vintage or ebay or just something high-street.

the one on the right

beanieb · 16/03/2009 22:21

I used to really wonder why Helena Christensen was a model, but I love her dress sense and she's aging beautifully.

AnyFucker · 16/03/2009 22:26

helena christensen is who I would most like to look like in the whoooooooole wide world

she is sorta quirky, has fabulous dress sense and always looks naturally beautiful

can you tell I have a proper pash on her ?

dizzydixies · 16/03/2009 22:28

tis a reasonable and understandable cruch to have Anyfucker

beanieb · 16/03/2009 22:30

Top shop one is nice, and the Phase eight.

I think I would most like to look like Erin O'connor, or Lynda Evangelista (sp?)before the botox!

sorry about the links beanieb here is a good place to look, if you have a few hours to while away, you can change the settings, choose colour, price etc, so you don't have to look at 1000+ dresses if you don't have the time.

beanieb · 17/03/2009 23:25

thank you

if you don't get lost, let us know if you find something you like...

I was looking at ghost too, some very reasonably priced dresses there.

beanieb · 18/03/2009 16:26

I like this - totally not what i was thinking of. Possibly not right for a summer wedding?

its ok if you want to look like a banana

Aefondkiss · 18/03/2009 20:29

I like it. Are you small of nork?

Ah, so it is for a summer wedding, you kept that under your hat in the op, I did keep meaning to ask.

beanieb · 18/03/2009 20:32

I am small of nork and not confident getting them out, but I did like the dress in the first post a lot.

I seem to go for these high necks like the banana dress, but am not sure if I should. Perhaps I should be braver. I am only 5 ft6 and about a size 10/12 (kind of in the middle) and worry about looking like a sad case trying to dress in sixties gear.

I don't like floaty dresses much, or thin straps, or strapless ones - though everyone I seem to know who will be at the wedding seems to like strapless flowery things!

OP posts:
beanieb · 18/03/2009 20:34

so even though I like the look of this dress here for example. I wouldn't wear it.

lisalisa · 18/03/2009 20:49

beanie - i love the banana dress too. Perhaps summer wedding you need fascinator and small shrug and strappy sandals?
