Pushing the pam in style

The Holy Grail of the Style and Beauty section is a rain-proof jacket with a hood, which looks stylish. I have found one!

M&S web site photos are always appalling, but I bought this jacket in navy on Saturday and it's great. The waist can be nipped in and the hood comes off.

IS IT WATERPRROF?

it looks too small to me

nickschick · 15/03/2009 20:27

It looks to me a little short -it will ride up when pushing a pram up a hill.........

traceybath · 15/03/2009 20:28

Needs to be longer in length i think or you'd get a wet bottom!

Must say my boden urban mac has done a good job this winter - its kept the rain out and been reasonably warm. Still not keen on the yellow lining but it was the best i could find.

They had a knee-lenth version on the rails too, but I can't see that on the web site.

It says water resistant on the label. I think waterproof is too much to ask for under £40. I poured a cup of water on it (my usual test) and it just bounced off, so I think I would survive a good drenching. However, but I would get very wet knees...

Ooh - I'm liking that (having done the hunchback impressions last week with brolly and buggy)

But I hope you don't think all M&S website pics are crap, particularly not, ahem this one

pudding25 · 15/03/2009 22:41

Is she yours Housemum? She's gorgeous!

FlorenceAndtheWashingMachine · 16/03/2009 10:24

What a gorgeous girl.

The images of kids on the M&S are always much better quality. Nore to M&S management: they actually make you want to buy the clothes!

Note not nore!

Thank you! The clothes do look better with kids in them, there were some outfits on the website just laid out flat, and they do look dull
