Come ooh and aah over my (idea) of a bespoke handbag!

I have wanted a cross body handbag for ages that I can really settle in to. I have a lot of unique bags but they all annoy me for one reason or another and I have spent a stupid amount of time thinking about what I really want out of a good every day stylish bag.

Cross body
I really like grey and gold (not shiny metallic trendy gold though)
medium sized, nice and sensible
close sensibly, I hate it when you drop a bag and everything falls out, equally I dont want to faff at a checkout trying to get my purse out
something that is not run of the mill
preferably not leather but long lasting and solidly made

So I spent aaaaaaages looking on the net and couldnt find anything so I started searching for people who do bespoke bags. And I found this lovely lady who I am getting on with very well via email and I have commissioned her to make a bag for me! We have exchanged a lot of ideas and I have sent her pictures of images I like to give her an idea of my style etc. She is going to send me some sketches & fabric samples. As I said to her I like her bags on her site but none of them were what I was looking for, but she has the listening ability, and vision & talent to make the perfect bag for me! I am so excited!

Lucky you! I love bags but hate seeing anyone with the same one. Your idea is perfect.
Just bought an Orla Kiely (in the sale!) last week so bag budget spent for this month..

I couldnt picture what Orla Kiely bags looked like so googled them, your bloody right in the sale! LOL They are lovely! Can you link me to a pic of the one you got?

I am really excited about my commission bag. I will of course post pics when it is done and delivered but we havent settled on the design yet. I have several one off bags and love them but just want one that wont wind me up so much! But will still be my style.

I would, but I can't find it anywhere online or anything like it even. I got it on impulse in a little boutique shop near us, it was the only one left and I couldn't resist it especially with an extra 20% off the reduced price!

It's mainly cream leather with dark brown leather detail and a green and cream oilcloth large tulip print on the main panels. It's definitely a summer handbag and not really my usual style but I was wearing dark blue jeans, dark brown boots and a long cream cardigan when I bought it, and it looked really nice with that, so I think that swayed me! Am going to have to hide when the visa bill comes in next week..

oh wow it does sound lovely though!!! Ah well you got a bargain!! Surely you deserve to buy yourself a treat for being so sensible?

I got the sketches & fabric samples through the post today - they look great!!! I am so excited!!! I am going to phone the designer when my phone charges up and give her a big green light!!! I wish I could show you, they really look great! When I get the bag I will take pics & post!
