Help me build a summer wardrobe around one skirt!

It's a knee length denim with buttons down the front. Slight a-line and casual.

I'm in Spain for 6 months and most of my clothes are at home. I do have a couple of other things for the nearly-here warm weather but they're sort of complete outfits.

I'm reluctant to buy a lot as I am caught in between trying to lose weight (although very gradually) and TTC.

I have already

  • a fitted black T'shirt
  • silver chunky jewellery
  • a navy blue ruffled T'shirt
  • a red cardigan
  • a dark blue long neckalce
  • black shoes / bag

I was thinking for starters:
a bright red top
one off those flouncy white blouses around at the moment

What would you buy and how would you accessorise it. Accessories are important as I'm in Spain and my 4 SILs and my MIL absolutely put me to shame. I'm a novice.

Oh. I thought people might go for that. Oh well.

Oh don't be sad! I would go for some red wedges, LOVE red wedges. You could do the whole 'nautical' thing with your accessories as red white and blue seem to be dominant colours. I'm think long gold necklace (nice change form silver and looks good with navy) maybe some flat gold ballet pumps?

Red lippy, and I think altho the denim skirt is a good staple, if you bought some wide legged linen trews in navy/white how cool would that look with your new red shoes and gold necklace I have just chosen for you.

Thanks MrsMaidamess. Nautical does seem to be all over AND I like it, but wondered if it was a bit staid?

I'm studying a course with peole who are all 15 years youger than me, and while I can't get my head around all those thin cotton oversize T'shirts in washed-out colours, I don't want to look middle-aged!
