US Dress slizes. What does PS mean?

They seem to write PP and PS etc, and I've no idea what this means. There's a dress I love and it's PS. What size is that in the UK?

I think "PS" is a petite small. Probably UK size 8-10, but also a bit shorter in overall length than an average size. Not sure what "PP" is, that's new to me!

The first "p" stands for petite: so, Petite Petite; Petite Small, etc.

PP = US 2-4; PS = US 6-8; PM = US 10-12, etc.

By petite, I would assume that the clothes are cut differently to suit a smaller person (perhaps affecting length, etc.).

I have brought a T-Shirt that has this ps to petite today as I am not petite at all. However the shop that I have brought the T-Shirt from won't do refunds, exchange only, so I thought I will buy the T-Shirt then I can try this on later on. I was able to put the T-Shirt on without any trouble but I know its tight around my arms as I said before I am not a petite person but average size person instead. I didn't know what it meant until today. I wished some clothing lines used numbers instead of certain words on clothing to make all of this less confusing for us buyers.

This. And it is correct that petite clothes are cut differently for a shorter body type. In trousers the crotch is higher because in regular trousers they can be mid-thigh on a petite woman. Sleeve length is adjusted. Neckline is smaller (regular tops can be cut too deep for decency).

Petite generally refers to 5’3” and under.
I’d expect you’d find a sizing guide on all websites.
