ChasingSquirrels · 12/03/2009 17:28

no, but I don't care particularly.

BitOfFun · 12/03/2009 17:28

No.

CompareTheMeerkat · 12/03/2009 17:29

I do sometimes

JohnnyTwoHats · 12/03/2009 17:29

I have very scruffy hair but I am usually fairly well accessoried. Not sure what that makes me!

lynniep · 12/03/2009 17:29

no. not any more.

orangina · 12/03/2009 17:33

nope

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2009 17:36

oh yah

Countingthegreyhairs · 12/03/2009 17:39

I am usually turned out OK but not glamorous or particularly stylish - just fairly classic - and I make sure I have a good hair cut every six weeks

but I only manage this because I take a "uniform" approach to dressing

ie buy 2 of everything that suits and wear it to death...

  • stick to two colour palettes ...easier to match outfits

  • have two "going out" outfits (one for summer and one for winter)

can't be bothered to do more than that tbh

cocolepew · 12/03/2009 17:39

Yes.
But nobody else seems to agree with me

MrsMattie · 12/03/2009 17:40

No. Not now I am a SAHM. When I was working - yes. And I hope to be again some day

plus3 · 12/03/2009 17:51

now, ctgh - what are your 'going out' outfits? I would be most interested to know (see another thread)

I'm not bad, but could do better

Madsometimes · 12/03/2009 17:56

No, not at all. It would be nice to be though, but I just know nothing about style and fashion!

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 12/03/2009 17:58

I am now-ish. Decided last autumn to smarten myself up. My 'look' consists of jersey dresses (Monsoon ones usually) or jersey tunics and jeans or leggings.

Plenty of jewellery too. Dry hair everyday and wear make-up. Oh and I cut some layers into my own hair a couple of months ago - made a huge difference. And I cover the grey with brown hair dye.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 12/03/2009 17:59

Actually, to me being well 'turned out' is more what not to wear.

ie. no tracksuits/fleeces/loungewear unless dog walking or going to the actual gym

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2009 18:02

yep with nice clothes, but with the messy washed hair and right now, a small hole in my favorite shoe.

AnyFucker · 12/03/2009 19:11

yep, I love to dress nicely/trendily

rarely leave the house without make-up, unless its a quick school run or trip to the offy

if my hair isn't washed I just put a trendy beanie/head scarf or summat over it

I absolutely love to shop for clothes and accessories and spend far too much on 'em but at least I have no other vices < ahem >

theDreadPiratePerArdua · 12/03/2009 19:15

Nope. I can do ballgowns, power suits and pyjamas. Everything between confuses me completely.

[skank]

Countingthegreyhairs · 12/03/2009 19:27

Apologies for digression JeanP..

plus 3 - sorry - can't find yr other thread ....???

not sure I should be sharing fashion advice as I am old and veer towards more classic look nowadays but seeing as you ask ...

... my 2 "going out" outfits are slightly more glamorous versions of my basic "day" uniform ie long sleeved collared shirts in fine cotton or silk knit - can't do collarless (bad posture) or sleeveless - (wobbly arms) any more .....

with skirt and boots with Rick Owens-esque cardy (usually in autumnal/taupey colours) for winter

with wide leg silk/cotton trousers and kitten heels and pashmina thing (usually in creams/taupes) for summer.

  • couple of shirt dresses (on similar lines)

have similar outfits/pieces in dark grey and navy blue too

try to find good quality shoes and handbags which last ...

Not remotely fashionable but these are the only styles that suit me now I'm ancient and I have a very wierd figure ...

plus3 · 12/03/2009 22:20

thank you. Mostly I live in jeans, and struggle to dress up to go out.

I think I need to find 'my style' and stickwith i!

liking the fact that the comment "I have very scruffy hair but I am usually fairly well accessoried. Not sure what that makes me!" was made by JohnnyTwoHats

Indeed. some might say overaccessorized..

JohnnyTwoHats · 13/03/2009 11:33

Of course!

Two hats, two bracelets, two belts, two pairs of shoes...

belladonna79 · 13/03/2009 12:06

Hmmm, I love dressing up but most days its good quality dark straight cut jeans (know what brand suits and have 4 pairs, 2 dark blue, 1 black and a very dark, overdyed blue) and a white shirt or a t-shirt in one of about 5 colours that suit me. My handbags and shoes all match my t shirts and jackets and knitwear.

Sometimes if I'm feeling brave I break our a printed shift dress with leggings...

fishie · 13/03/2009 12:11

yes i am usually presentable, made up and accessorised. although i do not have tidy hair either.

gegs73 · 13/03/2009 12:12

All fairly casual but I like to look like I've not been dragged through a hedge backwards if thats what you mean. I always wear makeup as I think I have bad skin and my hair normally looks OK unless it has been raining Rain is my enemy.
