I need some inspiration

Have been living in boots all winter

What shall I go for?

Hulababy · 10/03/2009 19:55

I am still in my Uggs! Not that warm here yet

notnowbernard · 10/03/2009 19:56

I have been stuck in Uggs too!

But feel the need to separate myself from them

Wore Converse today for the first time out of boots in months. My feet thought they were on holiday!

duckyfuzz · 10/03/2009 20:00

I put some converse type shoes on the other day and DH laughed at me

notnowbernard · 10/03/2009 20:01

I tried on a pair of Converse in the shop the other day and they just didn't look right on me... a shame, as I think they look great on other people

I've got a pair of battered white Vans which look ok so I'll stick with them

But what else? Are ballet pumps still in atm?

OP posts:
NorbertDentressangle · 10/03/2009 20:03

Spring is always a nightmare for me as I either do boots or sandals, nothing in between.

What is there other than trainers/converse type shoes (especially for us over 40s)?

duckyfuzz · 10/03/2009 20:03

I think ballet pumps are still ok, but they really do look ridiculous on my long wide feet

bodiddly · 10/03/2009 20:08

Im still in boots ... mind you I do wear boots pretty much through until summer. I walk a fairly long way to and from work and have yet to find anything comfortable and smart enough and non-boot-like that will take me through spring. Does anyone have any ideas?

bodiddly · 10/03/2009 20:08

sounds like you have my dilemma Norbert

akhems · 10/03/2009 20:10

loafers, ballet pumps, converse's, normal trainers and now im wondering if I'm making a hideous footwear faux pas????

hippipotamiHasLostSixPounds · 10/03/2009 20:10

Spring - already?
I am still in my boots and my wintercoat. Shall ditch both in April

tiredsville · 10/03/2009 21:39

Do any Ugg owners (or with boots similar) feel scared and vunerable with the thought of having to wear something else on feet now the weather is warming up a couple celsius?

feedthegoat · 10/03/2009 21:41

Still in boots and trainers but I've just bought some brown ballet pumps in the hope it will warm up soon.

hobbgoblin · 10/03/2009 21:45

I've switched from cardi Uggs to preppy trainer type things from Next, light sort of neutral colour. Ballet pumps for with tights and dresses/smarter look.

Were I not pregnant I'd have been switching between heeled boots and into heeled Mary Janes or similar.

boogiewoogie · 10/03/2009 22:19

These to go with jeans mainly.
Ideal for walks to nursery and town.

Shock
swedishmum · 10/03/2009 23:45

This is my eternal problem. Love my Converse (have a few pairs) and have some lovely heels even though I'm too tall, but I need to find work shoes.
What can I wear to work (ballet pumps I find so uncomfortable and they don't stay on) as a teacher returning to work? I'm very aware of being 45 so don't want frumpy boring middle aged lady shoes. Trainers or anything that looks like I knitted it myself need not apply.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 11/03/2009 08:12

'ne'er shed a cloot til May is oot'

I'm wearing Birkenstock clogs

fishie · 11/03/2009 09:20

clogs?

tiredsville · 11/03/2009 10:11

Sorry Boggiewoogie, I had to catch my breath after seeing those little red shoes. Fine for a little girl, but a grown woman?

boogiewoogie · 11/03/2009 21:47

I have them in black actually! Anyhow, what is wrong with red? No, I don't own any red shoes.
They're really comfortable and so much more practical than ballet pumps.
Realises that she has offended ballet pumps lovers and runs off!

notnowbernard · 11/03/2009 21:49

It was truly beautiful and Spring-like today

Still no nearer to solving shoe dilemma though

Am going to hit town tomorrow though!
