Those magic M&S jeans...

Now then, a while ago there was a lot of discussion about some M&S jeans that only cost around £12, and seemed to be absolutely magic in making you look lovely and tall and thin. Are they really that good? Has anyone got them? Can anyone post a link to them (there's an awful lot of jeans on the M&S website...)

My mum is after some smartish jeans. She's not that well off, 5'2", 64, size14-16 and a bit wobbly round the middle.

BALD, you must have saved Marks from the administrators with your thread

On my second pair now!

gigglewitch · 10/03/2009 13:11

roffle

Nabster · 10/03/2009 13:12

They are fab. I can get a size smaller than anywhere else and still need a belt (but can manage if I really can't be bothered with one) and I have 3 pairs.

Thank you ladies. Will let Mum know straight away. Might even get some myself, especially if can get away with a size smaller!

I got some in Tesco for £10 that are fab. Nice dark soft denim and make even my legs taller and slimmer

ssd · 11/03/2009 08:10

are the M&S ones the ones with lycra in them?

kayzr · 11/03/2009 08:12

They really work. My mum got some and we saw her the other day and she looked amazing. So I ordered a pair too.

ellingwoman · 11/03/2009 08:13

ooh they look good - I need a pair of jeans for red nose day. With my magic M& S pants I'll look positively sylph-like

mrsmaidamess · 11/03/2009 08:14

How come I don't need a size smaller in them?

TuttiFrutti · 13/03/2009 16:52

I just wanted to thank all you MNetters who put me onto these. I bought a pair today and they are fantastic, and I can't believe they only cost £12! Retail therapy on the cheap

cheshirekitty · 14/03/2009 18:28

I bought 2 pairs. The petite size is great, I am 4ft 10ins and I did not have to hem them. They're really comfy too.

cocolepew · 14/03/2009 18:39

I wore a pair in work this week, and everyone told me I'd lost weight I havn't BTW.

MayorNaze · 14/03/2009 18:41

see, i posted asking about these earlier in the week and everybody said they were shite.

maybe they should be called marmite jenas, you either love em or hate em?

janeite · 14/03/2009 18:48

I bought a pair last year and hate them - they are way too big and way too long. However, last week I bought a pair of New Look Hula jeans for a tenner and I am very impressed indeedy.

MayorNaze · 14/03/2009 18:48

i am wearing new look hula jeans right now - they are my "posh" jeans!

BikeRunSki · 14/03/2009 22:40

Well my mum went and got them on this threads advice, and loves them. Normally a 16, got a 12! She loves you all....!

i bought a few pairs online to try and on and wasn't terribly impressed. they do run a bit big but the length is definitely normal or short. i'm happy with my bum but hate my tum - imo they made my bum look dreadful and my tum ok. very comfy, though.

Nabster · 19/03/2009 20:38

Had to bin two pairs of my hulas as when I pulled them up by the belt loops they tore.

MrsMattie · 20/03/2009 13:59

Tried the M&S ones on the other day. Didn't buy them. Your mum will like them, that's all I'm saying!

Mimsy2000 · 21/03/2009 07:17

MrsMattie - you hit the nail on the head. I'm no spring chicken but this was a step too far for me.

HarryB · 23/03/2009 14:36

I'll second the new look hula jeans. They are a higher rise, and a welcome change from jeans with a 1 inch long zip that barely covers your ying yang.

hk78 · 26/03/2009 17:26

are these the m&s jeans?
(scroll down to 'katy, size 12'

watch out, it's the daily mail though

Lizzylou · 26/03/2009 17:31

Just got the M&S £12 jeans, size 14 is a great, not tight fit (am normally a 14-16 in jeans) and they are very slimming. Did wonder if they'd live up to the hype and they do

Love the Hula ones too, though the black pair have really faded, but good fit.
