GHD straightners

Anyone know what the best deal/offer is at the moment - I don't care what model they are - read all straightner threads, and the thinking seems to be that GHD's are the best. Thanks all.

Remmington are better, and cheaper.

magicwashingpot · 06/03/2009 20:13

Is it a heat thing? Should I get a pair that goes to 230 degrees? I have seen some in boots. I just can not bear to pay £100.

I think mine heat up to 230 but tbh i have never gone past 200 with them, never found the need.

Not sure exactly which model mine are but they were reduced in Boots after xmas from £65 to £5 and then £15.

My mum has the cheapest pair the Remmington do and she is really happy with them, and likes them morte than her ghd's.

magicwashingpot · 06/03/2009 20:18

ooooooooooooh I might have a rethink. I have £20 on my boots points.

ghd's are the best
ive got babyliss pro 230 radiance atm, they are great, but bulkier than the ghd's

cositjustisok · 08/03/2009 18:11

I have the Babyliss 230 bronze pro elegence..and I love love love them. They heat up to 230 degrees. Whilst staying away for a hen night we done a test on my hair and my friends hair with the bablyliss and the GHD's...have to say 10 girls agreed there was no difference at all in the end result. I prefer my babyliss because they where cheaper, I think they look nicer and I hate to follow the crowd and just buy something cos it is the "trend"..sorry but Costco sell them for £33 and it is just such a bargain comapred to GHD's.

Springflower · 08/03/2009 20:45

I'm very happy with my GHD's after having a cheap straightener before which was rubbish.

JeanG · 20/03/2009 01:23

Take a look at GHD Styler Stockists they have a list of retailer with the current best deals/offers

Flamesparrow · 20/03/2009 07:59

I had very very cheap remmington ones - did nothing.

Then I have swiped borrowed a friend's GHDs and I am in love. Really must buy my own and give em back though

Syd1 · 28/03/2009 12:50

Try one of the sites where you can compare ghds and should find you the best deal on any ghd straighteners.

lilacclaire · 28/03/2009 13:10

I had a few pairs of ghd's and couldn't afford to replace the last pair that broke.
I got a pair out of argos for £25 that work just as good.
Look out for the ones that go up to a high temperature and read the reviews, im more than happy with mine.

smartiejake · 28/03/2009 13:20

Sorry but once you have GHDs you will never want anyting else. My DD has quite curly hair and it had always frustrated me that I was never able to make her hair look like it does when the hairsresser styles it with the two pairs of straighteners we have had in the past (one set which cost £50 I should add so not cheap!)

Christmas day I was given GHDs. 5 mins of styling DDs hair looked fab and stayed straight for three days!

I find my hair stays straight well too even if my hair gets wet in the rain (unlike before where it would turn to frizz walking past the tumble drier!)

cheekysealion · 28/03/2009 18:45

my ghd's broke and i replaced with babyliss elegance which are good but having just gone away with my friend and her ghd's for a week i have to say i will be buying a new set as they make my hair Lush..

The others are good but the straightness doesnt seem to last as well as it does with the GHD's
