please explain waistcoats to me??

I have admittedly been stuck in my own rut and not really followed fashion! I am looking on the net and see some ladies waistcoats on normal fashion clothes sites. I just dont get it. How do you wear them? On what occassion? With what?

nah I think they're pointless as well. Specially them little Kate Moss ones that have been knocking around for years

er maybe they'd be ok for covering a bit of sick on a shirt for work

I dont want to offend any waistcoat wearers, I am sure some could pull it off and look fab but I would look awful in one! I tried one in the 80's when I was young and thank god I learned early not to go there again!
