Uniqlo Skinny Jeans

Ok, anyone know how skinny these skinny jeans are? If I'm an M&S Per Una size 10, will a size 10 in these be ok, or should I go for a 12. I don't want skin tight, but hate flappy legs!

Has anyone tried these yet, or know about the Uniqlo sizing?

Get the 12, Uniqlo sizes are pretty accurate ime, but they do skinny and super skinny (or some such thing) and the super skinny are less flappy iyswim

[Dons a tin hat]
Skinny jeans do not look good on anyone, ever, not even on Kate Moss and should therefore avoided like the proverbial plague.

Rollmops - no need for the tin hat! It's just that I hate flappy jeans, but so far the only trousers I like are the M&S Per Una Roma which are not skinny, but only come in black or blue. Everything else is too wide at the bottom, and I thought that if I got a slightly bigger size than normal ie 12 rather than 10 it might be ok. These skinny jobs don't sound promising, I do not want to look even more ridiculous than normal!

Any suggestions where I could get similar fitting trousers in something other than black or blue (not white or beige though as that would be seriously incompatible with my life!).

frosty i've got three pairs of uniqlo skinnies. the oldest pair are absolutely skin tight, the others are more what you are after. i've got these, alas sold out online except 6

i have got no idea what per una (shudder) sizing is like. what size are you in normal clothes?

frostyfingers · 09/03/2009 09:36

Fishie,

10 bottom half, 12 up to. I only do Per Una jeans, luckily they're not easily identifiable as PU! Maybe I'll try the Uniqlo - I can always send them back. Thanks for advice.

i am similar shape but unfortunately 14bottom/16top. uniqlo straight legs are v good for having nice long legs and not doing that awful tapering thing which makes one look like a carrot.

OrmIrian · 09/03/2009 13:51

I love uniqlo But their jeans are too short

frostyfingers · 09/03/2009 13:54

Fishie - I'm with you on the carrot legs, not a good look!

OrmIrian, I don't think too short will be a problem for me, 5'6" and generally wear low/flat heels.

I'm encouraged to have a go, and send them back if they look rubbish. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I'll let you know!

orm you can always embrace the 7/8ths trouser length. are you tall then? i am fairly long legged myself but only 5'5" so usually not a problem. gibbon arms is another matter....

i love uniqlo very much and luckily work near to several of their shops, but there is often something slightly wrong with their clothes - funny colour, strange shape.

OrmIrian · 09/03/2009 14:08

I take a 36" leg ideally.

Gap or Top Shop sometimes have them.

I have a sweater dress from Uniqlo that I love it bits. Knitwear in general is good. Also some of the t-shirts - got some for DS#1 last year.
