Right, have done this before but please recommend your LONDON hairdresser

I asked on here once before for a good hairdresser recommendation. Got a great one but she has now left London. I go back to work in one week and NEED a good confidence haircut. I want to find someone who will give me a good cut but not a 'style' that is probably fashionable but needs a load of work.

Please can anyone make a recommendation in London (I'm in West London but will travel to anywhere in zone 1 or 2 if the person is worth it).
Thank you.

Charles Worthington.

Daniel Galvin-George St.

If money is no object then ask for Lino but if more budget conscious then there are plently of others there who are equally good.

Sorry for posting and running, ds decided to be sick....

But I worry that with 'big names' they will want to give me a proper fashion style that will look great in the salon and rubbish when I try and recreate at home. Am I wrong to assume this?

I go and see Amy in Hari's (s Kensington). Not cheap, but they are pretty good. If you really want to invest, go and see Hari himself...

Ben at Eleven [http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/beauty/article4197183.ece here]]

I am over 40 and come out of there every time with a good haircut which suits me and lasts.

Martin Maxey
Grosvenor St
London

Now the hedge funders and their wives are broke you might get a seat at short notice.

Ask for Leon - an older guy who may still work there on his own account.

Great - thanks for the replies. Vonsudenfed am particularly interested in your recommendation because it sounds exactly like what I need. I can't get the link to work (even cutting and pasting) no chance you could link again is there?

Try that. If not:

Eleven, 11 Blenheim Street, London W1 (020-7491 2390)

I can't go as often as I'd like, as I've moved out of London, but if I say that I have been living in the SW for three years and have only just tried to find another hairdresser, you'll understand how good he is!

BlameItOnTheBogey · 05/03/2009 19:47

Great - that worked! This sounds like just the thing. I don't want a haircut that looks great on a 20 year old. I need one that works for my age and still looks good a month later. Thanks so much!

Don't go here any more (moved abroad) but my sister does. Fabulous cutters all:

I've just started going to the Chapel on St. John's St Islington, just south of the Angel. they have certainly picked my look up entirely. very nice relaxing place too, welcoming and personal.

Thanks for all the replies. Have booked Ben at Eleven. But cringe I said that someone had recommended them and was asked who. Faced with the options of saying 'Vonsudenfed' or 'someone on the internet' I developed a cough and made my excuses. Hope they don't ask me again....

Funnily enough, that happened to me too - I got the recommendation for my new hairdresser from here too. I coughed and went a bit pink - they asked me in person - and said, 'oh, just friend of a friend at work, don't know their name'. Not sure it sounded very convincing though.

BlameItOnTheBogey · 07/03/2009 13:21

YOu might end up being 'a person I met in the pub with fab hair'.

Glass, in Carthusian Street- literally round corner to Barbican Tube- ask for Peter or Fernando. Greta cuts and not too £££S.

BlameItOnTheBogey · 14/03/2009 18:10

Vonsudenfed just wanted to say a huge thank you for the recommendation. I finally got my hair cut and I LOVE it. He was so fantastic and this is the best cut I have had in years. I'm back to work next week and have a great confidence hair cut. Am so grateful for the recommendation!
