can you wear black to wedding reception?

i have a wedding reception on saturday.my choices are my lbd,a leopard print tulip dress(nicer than it sounds!) or a red tulip dress.or pjs. i cant be arsed really-which is why i need help!

I have worn an lbd to a wedding. I did, however, discuss with bride beforehand to ensure she wouldn't be offended (we are the closest of friends so knew she would be honest). I also wore it with a cream cardigan and pearls to brighten it a bit.

A friend of mine wore black to our wedding (she was also doing a reading so had a part to play). I didn't mind in the slightest. I just remember her looking very chic
