What can I wear to a christening in March?

OK, so I'm leaving it late!! I have no idea what to wear and am off to the shops this weekend to find the dreaded outfit. It is quite a 'posh' christening and I haven't worn a dress in, um, few years!! Anyone seen anything recently that they could recommend? I'm desperate for any help or ideas. Have looked through Next directory and nothing has hit me. Did look on Coast website and saw a nice red dress called 'Erin', I think, but may be a bit much for the day. Anyone??? Please????
(BTW, I'm a size 10, bit small, about 5'4", not much of a bust to mention!, hate strapless dresses!)

Is this a bit 'work-ish', ie dull?

I like it but have no idea if appropriate??

Love the shape of the ted baker dress but colour is a bit dull - could you liven it up with somehting colourful ? Again love the shape and colour of the coast dress but not sure the sateen is appropriate for a christening.

Wheelybug, my thoughts exactly but I am useless at livening things up!!!! What do you suggest, maybe red shoes and bag (except the old expression red shoes no knickers does spring to mind !

Oh yes, I like that lots and lots! So is OK to wear red shoes? (god I sound about 108!). Thanks.

Love the Ted Baker dress.

I haven't been to a Christening the whole of my adult life so have no idea what's worn but guessing it's similar to a wedding but with less hats and facinators.

Had a look at the Coast website. Can't find an Erin dress but did find the Edith dress which is red so may be the one you mean. It's a beautiful dress but possibly a little too "look at me" in the red?

Whoops. Crossed posts there with Edith link.

Saw two pretty dresses earlier. This one from Monsoon and this one from French Connection. Completely different from the gorgeous Ted Baker one but both good dresses for taking you into Spring. You might get more use out of them in the next few months than the Autumn/Winter coloured Ted Baker.
