Hi everyone,

Please could you give me some advice?

I have a skirt identical to this

Which of these tops, if any, do you like best to go with it for a summer wedding?

Number 1

number 2

Number 3

number 4

I like the raspberry colours as you may have gathered!

Thanks!

sorry none of them really go. if you have set your heart on one of these get one of the plain ones

MamaG · 28/02/2009 17:11

Agree none of them go. If you have your heart set on raspberry, wear a diff skirt

janeite · 28/02/2009 17:14

I agree with the others. They are the wrong colour, or the patterns are too fussy, to go with that skirt.

It needs either plain black, or, at a push, a really soft dove grey maybe, or really, really pale pink silk (imagine the camisoles made out of parachute silk in war time).

nickschick · 28/02/2009 17:15

I think number 1 would look pretty ....youd have to team it with the right shoes and stuff but actually i think it could work.........are you tanned? rasperry looks a bit ott on pale skin imo.

JackieNo · 28/02/2009 17:15

Agree with the other posters - unless the photo of the skirt is not a good representation of the colour, the pink is very different, and I don't think it'll look good with the raspberry, I'm afraid.

JackieNo · 28/02/2009 17:16

Get the top that goes with it?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 28/02/2009 17:16

None.

I'd go for a pale grey or black very simple but fitted one.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 28/02/2009 17:17

JackieNo. No

Far too fussy

JackieNo · 28/02/2009 17:18

Well, maybe TDWP, but at least the colour goes {grin]. You're probably right - pale grey, or a very pale pink, as janeite suggested, could work better.

janeite · 28/02/2009 17:19

M&S have a lovely pale grey silk top but it isn't fitted enough. The colour would be good though.

JackieNo · 28/02/2009 17:21

This colour pink? (not sure about the style - bit too Madonna-esque, maybe?)

Abubu · 28/02/2009 17:21

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your responses. The skirt is actually white with a black overlay, I didn't actually norice that this skirt looks a bit pink in the picture, I guess you don't see what your not expecting to see!

I've actually had the skirt for a while and must admit that although I wore it to a wedding last year I really struggled to find something that goes with it but because of the recession I'm trying to make do. The same friends who saw it at least years wedding will all be at this wedding so I didnt want to wear the exact same outfit.

I am tanned-ish and have very dark hair. Cool colours tend to make me look sallow so I usually go with these kind of colours. I hate shopping for wedding season.

nice black one

JackieNo · 28/02/2009 17:25

Ah! Well in that case the raspberry should be OK ! I do feel though that all the tops you've linked to would look better not tucked in, but the skirt would look better with something tucked in, with that bow at the waist.

janeite · 28/02/2009 17:26

Mmm - am still not convinced by raspberry, white and black. Agree that tucked in would probably be best.
