have awful visions of still having a winter handbag in August!

We need to nominate someone to choose the definitive date!

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 27/02/2009 13:27

She's not replying, probably changing curtains/cushion covers/cat beds for spring

largeginandtonic · 27/02/2009 13:42

She came back

Aha

Yes I was thinking abot this today, well we are hijacking it this year IG STYLE as we are having a Summer SOFA!!! Yes a new bright blue corner sofa (Karlstad) from ikeeeeeeeeeeeya.

So I will be buying new black and white cushions

But for you proles, I thin the clocks changing is a good guide line,

Hwoever if it then snows you will OVIOUSLY have to change back

No spring clothes till at least end of April.

largeginandtonic · 27/02/2009 13:45

So there we are, she has spoken. All clear now?

I pointed out that i have beaten that as we have just had new carpets and lino throughout, although not technically for summer

sifuentes · 27/02/2009 17:19

Are you THE oracle?

sifuentes · 27/02/2009 17:22

how do we feel about this bag?

brimfull · 27/02/2009 17:27

I love that whistles bag, very satisfying to have clasp closure.Too £££ for me ...and it's not particularly summery is it?

Tkmaxx have some beauties in at the moment,I was drooling over them the other day.

btw ikea is the business for sofas,we just changed ours.Bright red now!

sifuentes · 27/02/2009 17:32

It's not that summery, but then it's never that summery here really. In between seasons bag?? Can one justify that?

hmmmm it is too £££ for me too but am very sick of having shite bags...

WaitingForVino · 27/02/2009 17:38

easy, got mine out today

sifuentes · 27/02/2009 17:43

I really want it. I might buy it. now.

WaitingForVino · 27/02/2009 17:49

...and I love that Whistles bag. Grey is so easy to work between seasons...

My actual clue is - when you change your coat (and obviously your shoes). Then the bag must change.

For the next six months, I just refuse to wear any more brown chunky knits, padded parkas, or faux fur trim on my thick cardigans.

brimfull · 27/02/2009 18:36

still too early for brightly coloured bags imo

excpet maybe red

I have lovely bright blue one I'm getting out as soon as poss

largeginandtonic · 27/02/2009 18:51

Oh no not me.

COD is the oracle

Post was hers.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 27/02/2009 18:56

I bought a Spring handbag yesterday.

Slouchy, Green, Suede, Scoop with a leather handle

Mumsnut · 27/02/2009 20:21

Indeedy. We should synchromise date and time. At zero hour we should all change our handbags together.

The earth would probably stutter a little on its axis if we all moved as one.

brimfull · 27/02/2009 20:28

lol mumsnut

laurie have you a photo-sounds gorgeous

seeker · 27/02/2009 20:31

Maybe we could just decide for ourselves??? Or not have summer handbag at all?

brimfull · 27/02/2009 20:37

seeker-you blasphemer !!!

oh no no

we definitely must break out the summer handbags

and maintain a strict division between bags which are summer and bags which are not

how else would we cope?!

I go back to the coat & shoes rule. Today I did not need my -hideous- winter coat, therefore -hideous- winter boots, therefore spring mac, therefore converse, therefore spring bag! huuuurah!

Ronaldinhio · 28/02/2009 08:26

I have harder bag decisions to include very serious work bags, spring/summer bags for work or when I have a life.
Added to the mix I often can't be arsed with changing them around and so end up going to the shops at the weekend with a massive black work stylie bag bunged full of work crap

My god, mn has now made me realise that I am also a bag slattern

TheGreatScootini · 28/02/2009 08:32

Allegedly you can now get away with opaques year round.(As long as its not sweltering-see last years summer weather for reference)

RE Summer bags, I would say May onwards. But have also got a spring bag which I will use from tomorrow onwards.(Until May)I like to have everything clear.

SuperMario · 28/02/2009 08:47

I never use black bags apart from evening bags.

largeginandtonic · 28/02/2009 10:21

Black handbags are so grannyish, yuk.

Although i have coveted the slouchy over the shoulder Radley bag for a while. They do it in a lovely plum colour now.

Ronaldinhio · 28/02/2009 11:19

this is my work bag, not grannyish!!

Ronaldinhio · 28/02/2009 11:21

radley bags are grim though
