Got a hair appointment tomorrow...what to do??

I've made an appointment at the hairsdressers for tomorrow but I don't know what to get done! I am currently growing my hair after the haircut from hell about 18 months ago (I asked for a trim and got a bloody mullet!) and have half-head blonde highlights. I don't know whether to stay blonde, but go for a full head (maybe too high maintenance?) or maybe go darker again.

My natural colour is a mid brown, I have dark brown eyes and quite pale skin. I just feel a bit fed up with my look at the moment and need some inspiration! There is a picture on my profile

I would love a fringe, but I have a cow's lick at the front so it totally sticks up. I'm always jealous of people with nice fringes

I was thinking maybe going slightly darker would be a good idea as I have to straighten my hair as it is quite curly and dont want to totally ruin it by over-processing it. I think I have been every hair colour possible at one point or another!

DD1 says get a bit of a bob and a bit of a fringe too. We're thinking long fringe that goes to the side so not one that rests on your eyebrows like a kids fringe.

I say go a bit darker too. I am brunette and love it. Think nice warm brown and no roots to worry about. How about some layers to give you interest and volume.

lilolilmanchester · 25/02/2009 22:39

I was also going to say a bob at about chin length, with a side fringe. I like the layered bobs. What about mid-brown with auburn highlights?

MaplePecanPlait · 25/02/2009 22:42

yes long layered bob!

bandgeek · 26/02/2009 08:09

Auburn highlights sound interesting..true I wouldn't have to worry about my roots then, as they are horrendous at the moment! I've not had my hair done since 31st December as I am too lazy to get it done any more often than that

I am so tempted to get my hair cut off again, but am worried I will regret it as a big part of me wants to have long hair, but it is just so...boring at the moment. Thanks for your suggestions

I have until 4pm to decide - eek!

Just looked at your pics, i think you should go dark. I think that will suit u better. Sometimes blonde can make u look pale and ill!! My sister has gone blonde. she looks older somehow. We both look same, i am brunette and 5 years older. Hope this helps and sorry if im blunt!!!!!!!

MaplePecanPlait · 26/02/2009 11:17

well how about a long short style if you know what I mean.
Long length but with layers (sorry to keep on about them) so you can embrace your natural curls or straighten or tie up and still feel feminine.

I am like you and have my hair cut about every 2 to 3 months as I like to give the hairdresser "something to work with" which they love. Also I have found a proactive hairdresser who I trust and is not afraid to suggest things or tell me what doesn't suit me.

Can't wait to hear how you get on. Pathetically nothing going on here today....

lilolilmanchester · 26/02/2009 22:49

what did you do in the end bandgeek? Could we have an "after" photo

clarebear1 · 26/02/2009 23:52

I had the same trouble n weds with my app,i went from dark past shoulders length with side fringe to blonge highlights just above shoulders, very choppy and a full fringe
