and the one you have chosen is lovely.

GetOrfMoiLand · 25/02/2009 14:58

That is a lovely dress. I think it would be good to have a statement necklace as well (also draw attention to cheddar gorge like cleavage).

nailpolish · 25/02/2009 14:59

bag?

OrmIrian · 25/02/2009 14:59

Wow! Will look stunning.

belcantwait · 25/02/2009 14:59

ooh yes. its lovely.

charlieandlola · 25/02/2009 15:00

np - not sure, shoes that are flattering for well structured ankles, ie not with ankle ties or VB towering heels. Would like to find something fab though, to help lift me out of the fat and black clothes rut.

hertsnessex · 25/02/2009 15:00

nailpolish · 25/02/2009 15:01

bag and sheos would hav to match thouugh

need to run for schoolpick-up..........

GetOrfMoiLand · 25/02/2009 15:08

I have got this necklace pretty necklace - I got it from Waitrose, was reduced in price and was £15!

I think for shoes Evans are great - I am very tall and stamp a lot so normally reduce heels to dust, but Evans heels are pretty good. Depends on your budget - Russell and bromley and Kurt Geiger my favourite shoe shops.

High heeled sandals would look good with this, avoid an ankle strap as they are not at all flattering.

KristinaM · 25/02/2009 17:51

i woudl go for silver shoes like in pic

dress is fab BTW

hope you have a wonderful time

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 25/02/2009 18:04

That dress is possibly the most flattering evening dress I have ever seen for curvy women . It is gorgeous and only wish my 32C breasts would look good in it!

CharlieandLola: I am....ahem...sturdy of ankle too and I find that a 3.5 - 4" heel is the perfect height to give illusion of well-turned heel & calf . M&S and Miss Selfridge both do great heels which are more sturdy than usual - more cone type heel than stiletto.

twinsetandpearls · 25/02/2009 18:26

Lovely dress, your cleavage will look fabulous.

nailpolish · 26/02/2009 08:22

yes yes i agree with everyone

silver shoes like the one in the pic with a cone heel

cone heels are fab

nailpolish · 26/02/2009 09:38

if it is black tie flat shoes are a big NO

KristinaM · 26/02/2009 16:47

sorry i think the evans shoes are frumpy. you need a heel. thicker ones are easier to walk in that stilettoes

you need to get the balance between big sturdy shoes that easy to walk in and support ahem...substantial leg/ankle and teeny tiny stilettoe sandles that you cant walk in and and look silly on large curvy lady

that's why i was thinking of silver as lighter colour is less bulky IYSWIM so you can get away with more shoe

sorry if I'm not explaining very well

nailpolish · 26/02/2009 18:16

cone heel

maybe a bit wedding -y though

nailpolish · 26/02/2009 18:17

nailpolish · 26/02/2009 18:19

nailpolish · 26/02/2009 18:20

nailpolish · 26/02/2009 18:21

i love these (in black) or red if you like!!

nailpolish · 26/02/2009 18:23
