I was given mine shortly after DS was born.

I would quite like one, and have been offered one by DH on a few occassions, but I always get a fit of the guilts, as the ones I like and that would look right with my wedding & engagement rings are around £800+ and I can always thing of a hundred more useful ways of spending that sort of money. Part of me wishes DH would just buy me one as a surprise so I didn't have a chance to think twice about it.

I wish! Although I've heard it's not ideal to have diamonds all around. Can't remember why, apart from the cost.

donnie · 14/04/2005 14:10

white gold band (like wedding and eng ring) set with diamonds and sapphires - lurvely! for our 5th wedding anniversary.

sansouci · 14/04/2005 14:15

Might get one for 10th wedding anniversary. Only 3 years to go! What is it about jewelry that seems so important? Maybe a material proof of love? Urghh.

redsky · 14/04/2005 14:18

No but I'd love one. Once hinted to dh that I'd like some 'real' jewellery and his reply was "Come off it love - strikes me a bit like putting make up on a gargoyle!!!" And that was BEFORE we were married!! Now married 23 years - more fool me I guess!

serenity · 14/04/2005 14:21

No, no eternity rings, but then I never had an engagment ring either!

sansouci · 14/04/2005 14:23

LOL, redsky! Your dh sounds an interesting man... good imagination, certainly!

kate100 · 14/04/2005 14:48

I don;t have one, I'm very jealous of all of you that had them for the birth of your children. We have discussed it and I will get an eternity ring when I can buy DH a Rolex in return. I feel my ring is a long way in the future

redsky · 14/04/2005 14:49

Yep sans souci 'interesting'???? mmmmmm maybe not the first word that comes to mind to describe dh. 'Weird', 'insensitive', 'witty' and 'bastard' have all been applicable over the years. The thing is I don't think he ever means to really insult me - or maybe I'm just laughing too much to feel indignant.

Gobbledigook · 14/04/2005 14:50

Not yet but it's on the 'shopping list' - I want a really nice one for a good few grand so I'm waiting till we've not go so many big outgoings (dh is all for buying it now bless im).

binker · 15/04/2005 17:52

wow...am impressed by all the jewels - have hinted at having one - will be our 10th anniversary in August and I didn't get an engagement ring. DH says I can have one if he gets a new job - was made redundant a few months ago...so here's hoping !
