Help. I am scared of getting stuck in a style time warp...

I know this is a big ask but I am so stuck. I am a size ten. 5ft5, slim but curvy. Not got lovely long sticky legs. Have got thin waist, tits and arse.

what should i be wearing right now? just in general - i.e. not work...

All fashion at the moment seems to be favoring the long legged lovelies or aimed at the american apparel teen end of things. I am all at sea.

All suggestions will be very gratefully received.

Go fitted and hourglass, I reckon. Add platforms for oomph where practical.

BonsoirAnna · 24/02/2009 17:51

Your shape sounds LOVELY - you can wear lots and lots of things.

How old are you?

sifuentes · 24/02/2009 17:55

Thanks BonsoirAnna - I don't mind my figure actually it just doesn't easily look nice in clothes unless I am trying to look like someone in Madmen which is ok for work but not for running around at the weekend.
I am just 34. Young at heart but live in fear of being mutton...

If I read any more from MNS who are in their 30s thinking they are old..."mutton as lamb"- I will scream .
I am 50s- and anyone 20 years younger is still a child.

BonsoirAnna · 24/02/2009 20:38

Have you looked at Aubin and Wills? I would wear stuff from there if I were younger .

Jewelsandgems · 24/02/2009 21:28

How about something like this:
www.oasis-stores.com/fcp/product/Oasis/Skirts/Nautical-Fashion-Skirt/3240054523

with any old fitted top, tights, boots, fitted jacket (or for summer, a tan, sandals, camisole top)

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 24/02/2009 21:31

34 eh? Give up whilst you can I say. A sack perhaps at your age?

sifuentes · 25/02/2009 09:20

I didn't mean I think I am mutton! just don't want to look like I am trying too hard/ to be a teenager! sorry for confusion caused. seriously.

Aubin and Wills looks nice.
Do you know what I mean though? It's hard to find the middle road between looking too street and down with the kids on the one hand and a bit frumpy on the other hand. I haven't bought any clothes for so long and now I just don't know where to start.
Anyway -
thanks bonsoiranna and jewelsandgems. I do like the shape of that skirt. And Aubins looks good too though might wait for the next sale.

Feel a bit at confusion caused!
