Is it the preggo look? Why does practically everything look better on skinny no-norkers? Life is not fair...

brimfull · 24/02/2009 15:27

yup,the 7 months gone look.

My dh bought me a top from there for my b-day last year. I saw the price inadvertantly and nearly had a heart attack-- could have bought similar from tesco, and I hardly ever wear it.

oregonianabroad · 24/02/2009 15:35

beware if you have taste and think paying 50 quid is a bit daft for a t-shirt that will make you look preggers, I'd say.

brimfull · 24/02/2009 15:52

the lineny fabric is much nicer than anything I've seen in tesco
I do agree their stuff is ££ but thanks for calling me daft though

I sympathise. This looked gtreat on the assistant but made me look 6 months pregnant. For a moment I toyed with it on the basis that I could actually probably wear when really pregnant as well, but on balance decided that it was a bad idea. I haven't given up completely however: I plan to try it another day before having eaten lunch, and maybe it will look better..

kettlechip · 24/02/2009 19:13

I sent my swingy top back as it made me look obese (I'm a size 12 with norks) plus it was almost £50 for a very ordinary top.

I do have a sneaking suspicion it's aimed at the more mature ladies, my MIL thinks nothing of spending that kind of money on clothes, and loved the catalogue (she's 66..)

bodiddly · 24/02/2009 19:31

Ive had a couple of jumpers from there but would only buy them in the sale as they aren't cheap!

oregonianabroad · 24/02/2009 22:12

ggirl, wasn't calling you daft, calling dh daft -- the top he bought me was not nice.

didn't mean to offend.

I had a wardrobe full of luvverly wrappy things and cute little smocky 'ironic' dresses. I love all that stuff and I thought they would be fab for after I had DC4. I mean they were stretchy and roomy etc. Ha Ha I thought, no need to buy anything for post pg wear.

Yeah whatever! Flippen huge bangers and the extra weight made me look bloody horrible. My wrap dresses looked eye poppingly horrible and the smock dresses no longer looked cute, they made me look like someone out of prisioner cell block H . I got so peed off I sold the whole lot on ebay.

Now they would probably look ok (I am not naturally blessed with big boobies) but my cuboard is bare!

I am such a twonk
