I'm going to need new shoes for my 18mo dd soon, she's probably going to be a size 4 (3g at the moment). She has a brown pair from clarks with a small pink flower on at present, but looking in there, it seems I either have to buy the same pair again or submit to pink! Happy to buy from the internet after having her feet measured, anyone have any suggestions on where to buy non pink shoes that don't cost the earth? happy to pay up to £30 and don't mind a smidgeon of pink, but not all over! looking for mary jane/ ankle boot styles.Cheers!

sorry, not keen on any of those except the plain brown ankle boots! Should have mentioned no white either. She wears lots of green, browns and purple, with a bit of orange thrown in. I tend to force my slight hippy tendancies on her in my colour choices! she wears the odd pink but not all over. thanks anyway!

I get Start-rites for my dd. She's a G fitting too and its so hard to fimd shoes that fit her. I dread shopping for them, because Clarks only ever seem to have the bubblegum pink styles in her fitting.

I recently bought her these

Hippies like you should look here:

www.greenshoes.co.uk/index.php?f=shop&p=range&c=girls

You can chose any style in any colour leather, which are then handmade for you 'specially

hophophippidtyhop · 24/02/2009 19:51

those are great shoes, but more than I pay for my own! def more like it!

I got some nice green shoes from Next last year, but have just had a look and they don't seem to have much this season (couple of red pairs)

quite like these as well

peachygirl · 25/02/2009 19:58

DD has had some shoes made by Chipmunk

these at top burgundy

They have been excellent hardly any scuffing

Tillyscoutsmum · 25/02/2009 19:58

love these

SobranieCocktail · 25/02/2009 19:59

Startrite do lots of good non-pastel colours.

hophophippidtyhop · 25/02/2009 20:00

I've just been looking at those on ebay! there's quite a few good pairs on there, and the aformentioned chipmunks are dirt cheap too!

SobranieCocktail · 25/02/2009 20:00

I meant they do lots of shoe styles that are in non-pastel colours, but the range of colours is a bit limited. I'm happy with red or navy though

Tillyscoutsmum · 25/02/2009 20:04

Those "squeaky" ones on ebay are lovely. I've just looked at the squeaky website though and this season's colours are pretty rubbish. Maybe pink is compulsory in the summer

Think I'll get dd measured tomorrow and order some from the ebay shop

hophophippidtyhop · 25/02/2009 20:04

glad the chipmunks have been good, at those prices I can get a couple of pairs. When they outgrow them in 3 months I slightly resent paying £30 for one pair

lilQuidditchKel · 25/02/2009 20:12

ok silly question but do the "squeaky" shoes actually make a noise? could be annoying?

hophophippidtyhop · 25/02/2009 20:14

they can be de squeaked, either with tape, or for permanent no squeaking, stick a bit of superglue in the squeak.
