Boden Riviera dress

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Boden - like (some of) the clothes, but find it expensive and not always value for money. But I do like the look of the Riviera dress here. Does anyone have it/ have views on it? Especially the cafe ellipse. Am 5'8, 14/16, fairskinned, pear...

I don't like it - it is a bit frumpy and I think I would look like a housewife in a floral overall in it...

It is a lovely dress and looks very easy to wear, iyswim.

However, If you are a pear shape I would steer clear. Its tempting to think that something this shape would be good for pears (it is, in that it fits at least!!) but I have found that this shape emphasises my pear shape rather than disguising it and makes me look even more out of proportion.

It is very similar if not the same as one they had last year- in white/brown flowers. I sent for it- it was big fitting and the skirt part was very flared. I sent it back. I am a petite 10, and I think it would have suited a bigger/bustier person! It looked very frumpy. I think in the pics they must pin the clothes so they give a much tighter fit than they really do. If you send for it and get free P&P then you can try it?

I had my eye on that dress, but I think it was the colour that attracted me (the green as worn in pic) as I am partial to lime bright green.
I would definitely try it with free return option.

Thanks everyone! TheRealMrsJohnSimm, I do see what you mean about emphasising pear-yness; it's a worry. I agree that the model isn't helping much; dress looks very different on her and in the other pics. Think I'll send for it and give it a go... MrsSeanBean, from the website reviews it sounds as tho the green is different (stronger?) in real life, tho it sounds like it's still nice.
