Make-up shelf life?

Can anyone tell me how long you should keep make-up for? I know mascara's only about 6 months but don't know about the rest. looking in my make-up bag am wondering if I should just ditch the lot & start again?? Any suggestions for brands which I could try, have very sensitive skin

Some of mine is 10 years old. And I have a friend who has some original Mary Quant eye shadow!

All cosmetics products have a shelf life of at least 3 years unless something less is marked on the packaging.

I can beat that, tilly. I used to work in the cosmetics industry before DS1 was born. He is now 17.
