Maternity SCARF?!?!

How does a pregnant woman need a different scarf to a normal one?!?!?

Please can we add this to the list of "pointless crap we are told we need when pregnant" to go with the wipes warmers etc....

TBH If I had a touch of nappy rash or a slightly sore botty, I'd rather have cold wipes on my arse than warm ones...

(I really should be getting on with some work, not looking at scarves and wipe warmers - If you see me here again, shout at me!))

Flamesparrow · 22/02/2009 15:34

Stealth - I am clearly blessed when I am pregnant My neck has stayed the same size both times. Alas, for my arse it is not so...

Lol! I think I might start a thread inviting people to invent their own pointless crappy maternity / baby / breastfeeding item.

theyoungvisiter · 22/02/2009 21:32

Well I don't know about you ladies but I am off to Brent Cross to search out a freshening pillow for my nappy wipe warmer. I have been suffering without all these years - until now I didn't even realise the level of my deprivation.

The scarf is just brilliant. Perhaps it's specially absorbent, in case your waters go while out shopping, and the tassley bits can double up to tie the umbilical cord?

theyoungvisiter · 22/02/2009 21:35

Ok, pointless maternity/childcare item [puts on thinking hat]

How about, for the Gina Ford routine-follower, a pre-progammable timed toaster so that you can load it up with bread the night before and have your toast at the exact time in the routine it states "EAT TOAST FOR BREAKFAST" rather than having that madcap rush to get the toast on the plate in time?

StealthPolarBear · 22/02/2009 21:37

lol- thread exists, please add that to it

Salleroo · 22/02/2009 22:11

I want a preg biro please and I'll pay over the odds for one to have better To Do lists.

I initially thought the wipe warmer was for the ladies not the babies.

The scarf??????? WTF? Super wide shoes for big fat feet and swollen ankles yes, even the gloves for swollen fingers had me, does it convert into a sling post birth?

ninedragons · 23/02/2009 03:01

WTF is a maternity lollypop?

Flamesparrow · 23/02/2009 12:13

lollipop

LOL at maternity scarf.

I am amazed that I survived my two pregnancies.

And no wipe warmer either.

My gynae did have a bottle warmer for the scan gel. Very thoughtful of him

Poledra · 23/02/2009 12:28

Actually, while pg with DD3, I had to have loads of scans. It was spring/summer, and I wished my clinic didn't have a gel warmer. By the time I'd left work, driven to the hospital, parked blardy miles from the maternity unit then dragged my heavily pg ass to the scanning suite, cold gel would have been bliss.

They'd warmed it every blardy time .

Flamesparrow · 23/02/2009 12:40

Ours just used to bung the gel by the radiator, so was warm if the heating was on
