Lovely ladies of Mumsnet...I have bought this dress for a wedding on 7th March.

The lovely lady in Coast showed me black shrugs etc to go with it but to be honest red and black looked a bit Cruella de Vil...I have a nice cream light cardigan that would go well with it but need help with shoes/bag/what to wear on head?

Red shoes? Or is that overkill - cream shoes? Red bag....fascinator/hat? AAAAAGGGHHHHH help me someone!

NB - Coast have a mac that goes nicely with it on their website but its £175 so waaaaay over budget. So any cheaper wedding coat type ideas also gratefully received..........

Lovely dress HarrogateMum and very that you have the figure to wear it!
I agree that black would be too harsh a contrast for a wedding.
For shoes/handbag, what a gold/bronzy colour? Would work well with your cream cardi too?? I think red shoes/bag might be difficult to match up and I think a contrast would be nice.

Great dress, black would ruin it and make you look like a flamenco dancer. What about silver?

If you are doing cream, you could get a nice chunky pearl bracelet and studs. No necklace, the bow is enough. Take the dress with you to a large newlook, dont know your budget, but they have some great inexpensive shoes that are comfy.

Not black, it's a dress that speaks for it's self, so the accessories should compliment it not complete with it, agree a bit of glitz in bronze, silver, gold may make it too christmassy, or cream would look chic agree with Salleroo, nice bracelet and studs no necklace. A nice clutch bag with a bow would be good too.
