Need a new hairstyle, where can I find some ideas?

I'm in desperate need of a hair revamp, at the moment it's shoulder length and is rubbish, all I ever do is put it up in a ponytail, I want it cut short but am scared of going to the hairdressers unless I know exactly what I want, as once it's short I'll have to live with it if I hate it,

does anyone know of any good websites with pictures of styles and cuts to find inspiration and so that I can show the hairdresser what I want, I've had bad experiences with hairdressers and want to go with a clear idea of what I want, but not sure what I want yet! TIA.

The thing about taking a picture the hairdressers is your haircut never looks like the picture anyway!
Once you have short hair, you are forced to style it everyday. I would love to be brave enough to do it myself!

As soon as this wedding is over I am having mine short (like Miranda's in sex and the city)

It is right down my back at the moment and in great condition but I think I look like a witch. Although it is easy as I put it up everyday for work and never blowdry. I only straiten about once every six weeks.

hairstyle

hope this helps, all you need is a photo of yourself, fiddle around with the buttons, a 'bobs' your uncle..pardon the pun!

A lot of hairdressers do free consultations, so you can go in and they will tell you what they think and then you can leave it and have a think. That means you don't feel pressured into having it all chopped off because you made an appointment.

When I am looking for a haircut I read all the fashion magazines to get ideas, they are the best source for pictures IMO

If you want it chopped really short or even shortish , go to a barber! I go with my boys and it costs me a massive £7.50. They always do what I ask for, and at the end of the day, they spend their whole time doing short cuts. Best of all, I don't have to make an appointment or endure hours of faffing and fiddling and then NEVER achieving the same look again. It always does what I want. No - it isn't a number 1!!!
