Is anyone else as disapointed as me? I was so excited that the sale was at long last over and then when the new things went on display today it seemed there were hardly any of them, at least one dress is the same as last years but in a different colour, the swimwear seems identical to last seasons except the colours have changed and there are no nice bags. in fact there is hardly anything at all and it is all really boring. Is this credit crunch austerity?

I was looking at Toast earlier today, the only thing I liked is the denim tunic, yes it could be that they want to keep on the safe side of things, or maybe more things will be uploaded later on.

tattycoram · 17/02/2009 20:43

I like that denim tunic too samsonara. Nice shoes I thought, but there didn't seem to be that much stuff full stop.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 17/02/2009 22:34

Yep, not feeling the love either.

It all seems too simple - there isn't any detailing and its all rather unexciting.

And yes, swimwear is pretty much identical to last year.

TheyCallMeStacey · 17/02/2009 22:38

Yes, deffo not exciting at all. So similar to all their other stuff and not cheap either.
I do like the strapless jersey dress.

Pleased to note it is not just me then, and although I've not had the paper catalogue yet it did look to me that in the pictures the models were enjoying themselves on holiday! no gloomy ruins, bleak hillsides or steam trains - this isn't good enough. If you really made me, and if I pore over it enough times might grudgingly concede the chambrey tunic/skirt/trousers are really quite nice but it is slim pickings if this is all there is.

oh, i thought there were lots of things i'd wear (i've already bored tattycoram with links ). there were some v pretty tops, and some ace green patent sandals. liked the metallic ballet shoes too, & the stripy jumper dress though would need to try it on. also liked the slouchy leather bag. i think the churidor (sp?) leggings would be v. practical, and not too £££. i seem to be going against the grain somewhat...

bettybeetroot · 18/02/2009 16:48

i also saw quite a few things i would wear. i will definately order some things before spring. great everyday clothes imo. i am on a mission to slim down a bit so that i can wear those leggings hoxtonchick!

tattycoram · 18/02/2009 16:49

I love those churidors. They look a bit tight even on the model tho, so I might look as if I've got sausages for legs

mazzystartled · 18/02/2009 16:57

oh i liked lots of it too
the jersey dress, v flattering
the silk watercolour floral top
the magenta print dress and skirt

hoxtonchick · 18/02/2009 18:40

that top is gorgeous mazzy.

MrsSeanBean · 18/02/2009 19:27

I had the catalogue today... some the t shirts are a bit underwhelming (have seen similar in Sainsbury's for £3.50) but some of the dresses (yes - the jersey dress!) and accessories are nice. Like the bright blue Repetto shoes.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 18/02/2009 20:30

I that there are some nice things in there but I feel like I've already got all those items from Toast already........tunic dress, check; wide leg trousers, check; jersey dress, check; cute little top, check.

I guess it just seems like more of the same. At least, yes, they are true to their "image" but would be nice to have something truly gut-wrenchingly "gotta have it" in there

dustbuster · 18/02/2009 20:35

I liked the stripey jumper dress and the jodphurs, but everything else was a bit dull. Is it just me, or have they gone a lot more mainstream over the last year or so? Also, I ordered three dresses in the sale last summer and the qualit of one of them was 'orrible.

I really liked the country and western inspired catalogue a few years ago, but since then it has become slightly (whisper) Boden-esque.
