Any suggestions for something to wear under this?

here. I already have it, so be nice and dont tell me not to bother .

I'd like something casual (to wear with jeans), long-sleeved and not too clingy over my post-baby tum.

More generally - what do people wear under all these short sleeved jumpers that are around? I've got my eye on a couple but I get really hot and dont like too many heavy layers. I'd like some long sleeve tops to wear under them but the shops are getting full of short sleeve spring tops.

Lastly - nothing too expensive!

How about this

Would do the job if not to clingy.

I think what "people" (round here anyway) wear is a shirt with big billowy sleeves. I've never actually seen one in the shop though so that isn't very helpful is it!

really? I think I'd be a bit scared of big billowy sleeves . Will resolve to look out for them though so I know what people round your way are wearing!

this would go well, i think

LOL. I've just been on la redoute to try to find you one...no joy. Maybe I'll flag somebody down in the park and ask!

bitofadramaqueen · 15/02/2009 20:34

It's not for me I'm afraid pollygarter but thanks for looking.

Thanks boogeek LOL at the thought of you flagging down someone in the park though!

I've got several of these tops in different colours from Top Shop which are great. They are in a lighter and slinkier fabric than a regular long-sleeve tee and therefore a bit more dressy. They wash really well but I did go for a size larger than I would usually because of the lighterweight fabric (but my tummy looks like an unmade bed!) If you are worried about your tummy, you could try fastening the cardigan with a belt round the middle or a brooch at the neckline.

Top Shop also had a stack of white collarless shirts with pintuck pleats down the front and long sleeves which were full rather than hugely billowing iyswim. That kind of top would look good under your jeans. Can't find them on the site though.

Not "under" your jeans obviously......doh! I meant with your jeans and under the cardi you have

Thanks everyone - trip to topshop and new look for me. Fingers crossed I find something!
