Can anyone help me find some nice undies that will not reveal my tum??

I am still a bit postnatal(!) all over but especially my tummy. It was never brilliant but is now a mess and it has knocked my confidence a lot especially wiht dp I really want to feel comfortable in bed with him (blimey this is all getting a bit tmi isn't it??) and am after soem nice undies to wear that will kind of hold everything in iyswim? All the corset type things that I have seen are no good as they are not really long line enough iyswim- I wouldn't want my tummy hanging out the bottom. I just need somehting to nip in my waist. I am still bf so boobs are about my one good feature. I should add, dp is not remotely bothered by my tummy, but I am.

Bump I need this advice too.

MrsTittleMouse · 15/02/2009 10:51

I have the same problem - 10/12 years ago you couldn't find anything but high waisted knickers, now you can't get them for love nor money. Same problem with bikinis - there must be a huge market out there!

JackieNo · 15/02/2009 10:55

Are you actually after knickers? I'm just thinking of the um, logistics of being in bed (or do you just literally mean being in bed, rather than, you know, other stuff? Sorry, but it makes a difference, I think). YOu could go for a chemise that will skim over your tummy?

massivewobblytum · 15/02/2009 11:16

yes, something for actually 'in bed'. God I'm a prude I have it in my mind that I will be able to get something that can, erm, stay on, and suck everything in as well as covering it iyswim, so chemises no good really.

magicpudding · 15/02/2009 11:17

Something like this, yes?

such a shame these are sold out

starbear · 15/02/2009 11:20

WoW!

Ronaldinhio · 15/02/2009 11:29

bad version but is this what you mean?

magicpudding · 15/02/2009 11:29

these are quite pretty, and more toned down than the previous suggestion... there are a few basques etc... on the site also, which may be a fun option.

samsonara · 15/02/2009 11:36

Sloggi have high waisted cotton pants which are comfortable
here you can get them in departments stores in packs which work out cheaper . I'm not sure the ones that nip you in the waist would be comfortable for sleeping in, I think they are more for under clothes for shorter periods of time but if you want to try without forking out too much money, peacocks do these
here

samsonara · 15/02/2009 11:41

or these

oi those that are laughing that my suggestions are not very sexy...well they were good enough for Brigitte Jones weren't they

massivewobblytum · 15/02/2009 11:53

Ah ronaldinhio, that is more like it. Is a 'waspie' their actual name then? At least now I know what to google for

complete boudoir confidence apparently

massivewobblytum · 15/02/2009 12:02

Oh Metatron that last one is lovely

OP posts:
JackieNo · 15/02/2009 14:14

Samsonara - I think op wants things that can stay on while in bed and doing Something Other Than Sleeping, iyswim [wink}. So pants are no good for that. That last one that metatron linked to was good.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 15/02/2009 14:21

I have a tummy like an unmade bed and like the OP it bothers me but not DH. I have this from Agent Provocateur and it is stunning. Very expensive but will make you feel a million dollars and its extensive support and lacing system will give you beautiful curves with an hourglass silhouette . I am quite long in the body and find most basque things are too short and I end up with belly showing beneath.......not a desirable look imo! But this one is a perfect length.

morningpaper · 15/02/2009 14:33

Ann Summers is the best place for these - remember that their models are always VERY TALL and on a normal person their basques etc. come down much lower. They also have some nice high-waisted pants although beware the ones with integral suspenders because the stockings pull them down rather, and anyway you have to whip it all off if someone is requesting entry

Matalan has a lovely deep black lace suspender belt at the mo for a bargain £4 which does an excellent belly cover job

Chemises and negligees are also good for covering up anything that is flapping around and are quite suitable for doing marital business in:

Primark have lots of negligees for about £2-£3 each

Also Peacocks do chemises with matching knickers for about £7 quid

morningpaper · 15/02/2009 14:34

those basques with skirts are pretty on the models but if you have an actual arse then you look like a duck in a tutu

mileniwmffalcon · 15/02/2009 14:44

something a bit retro? btw anyone who wants this in black in a 34b can get to the back of the queue, you hear me?

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 15/02/2009 14:48

That's gorgeous mileniwmffalcon.

And at Morningpaper!!

Ronaldinhio · 15/02/2009 17:27

two birds one stone

samsonara · 15/02/2009 20:04

Thanks JackieNo, sorry massivewobblytum...some nice stuff linked by the metatron, scrap the ones I suggested, how about this
here, there's some Gok Wan designed stuff on here too

samsonara · 15/02/2009 20:06

not by the, by metatron.. and I like that
retro one!

mileniwmffalcon · 16/02/2009 00:36

ooh don't be swayed by the gok "sassy" (urgh) slip if that's the link (sorry can't get it to work) that one has a weird inner gusset that is just eek

mileniwmffalcon · 16/02/2009 00:37

btw ewwww at ronaldinhio's link
