Eyeshadow and liner "wanders" - how to stop it?

I wear eyeshadow and powder eyeliner every day (hate eyeliner pencils and don't get on with liquid) but it migrates to the upper part of my eyelid during the day and looks really weird! I use Benefit Lemon Aid as a base first, but I don't tend to wear foundation or powder. Should I be using a loose powder or something over it? If so, what's the best to get? I don't mind paying for a good quality one.

I use the other Benefit primer (F.Y.Eye) which I think is less greasy than Lemon Aid so you could try that next time you run out.

Before that I used to dust a neutral eyeshadow over my socket and the upper part of my lid before couloured shadow/liner, and that worked well too.

MY problem is that ALL brands of Mascara migrate to under my eye! WTF is that about - I don't have watery eyes!

Urban Decay Primer Potion - tis fab.

Right
My tips are
to use mac pencils they stay on forever.
or use a shadow wiht a wet brush.

ime there is nowt you can do
it's becasue your eyelid is resting on the liner and transfers
only thing I do is use bobbi brown gel liner or decent pencil
and keep wiping the offending lines away just before I go our
gel eyeliner is fab and doesn't budge

imo you need a good quality eyeshadow..

I wear either MAC or Chanel etc and never have it crease in the lids..

I have in the past used "cheaper" eyeshadows because I oved the colours etc BUT it never lasts a full day..either goes without trace or creases..

fishie · 12/02/2009 21:27

no alas it is age and brow droop. but we are all saved! she laq i have used this every day for past year with my mac eyeliners and it works. it really does. all go and buy some.

must be put on very thin or it makes the makeup run which is not the aim.

brimfull · 12/02/2009 21:30

fishie -is it shiny?

fishie · 12/02/2009 21:33

no, it is a little sticky. like stopngrow. very runny hence sparse use.

FoxyBingo · 12/02/2009 21:56

speia ink

I have this problem too. I have hooded eyes, as do a all the women in my Mums family. I use mac bare study paint pot as a primer, it grips eye shadow and liner so they do not budge until I remove with cleanser. You can get the paint pots in other colours and can be used as a shadow alone without primer or as liner. Tis a fab product and a make up staple in my bag. (also loks fine as a shadow, gives a lovely awake look.)
