Hi i need a new pair of wellies but i have chunky calves, the last pair i had to slit down the inside so that i could tuck my jeans into them. Does anyone know if there is a such a thing as wide leg wellies?

There is a pair at Evans that are nice.

I just bought some from Joules, they have a buckle at the side, and my 15 inch calves fit in with jeans tucked in.

Will have to try the local county outfitters, i fear it will have to be a more expensive pair and hope they last longer. Living in a rural area and walking to and from school 3 times a day means wellies are essential.

These are good. They do them in all black which are nicer than the pink I reckon. They are thermal, and have adjustable velcro straps going up the sides which are good for chunkier legs.

Will keep your feet toastie warm.

I have gigantic calves and buy Aigle Parcours wellies. They are the most comfy footwear I own and well worth the bit of extra money than normal. They've lasted really well too, despite being worn daily for hours!

Rather £££, but these say they'll fit almost any size calf. I just get slightly shorter cheap ones.

If you have a B&Q nearby, their wellies are good for chunky calves - I have enormous calves and really struggle with wellies given I live surrounded by mud and need to wear them daily. And the wellies at B&Q are only around £12, which is a bonus!

I got some v similar to hunters but half the price at my local garden centre, will find out brand (they live in boot of car at the mo, due to snow!)

duckyfuzz · 12/02/2009 20:47

ok they are town and country as seen here

redshoes · 12/02/2009 20:47

I got some from Millets, made by Peter Storm and in a rather fetching red rose print. I've done the scissor-snipping thing too! on my last pair which were from Next

Ohforfoxsake · 12/02/2009 20:48

I got mine in Lidl. 6 quid, but a bit garish.

Whilst I'm here, as a chunky-calved woman myself, I feel it my job to promote the Duo Sale as I fell in love with some £185 boots months ago, and I received them today. For £54. And another pair for £32.

And two pairs last week .... (though they went back as too small and DP was asking questions when two pairs turned up today as well!)

No wellies though.
