A fabulous dress and a white belted trench coat. Fishnets and heels. I would also have my eyebrows waxed. to beanieb

Speaking not-entirely-hypothetically, the Hat (with a definite capital H) that I bought for myself ten years ago and justified on the basis that I would wear it to lots of weddings but last wore... umm... ten years ago. And something that goes with it (blue wrap dress with long sleeves, probably. I'll try to find a smart coat to go with them.

PortAndLemon · 09/02/2009 16:49

(where are your weddings, SBOP and spugs? )

SongBirdOfPrey · 09/02/2009 18:48

the one i'm going to is in northamptonshire.
wheres yours spugs?
nice choices
i was tempted to get the warehouse dress last time i went shopping but i say it as more of a day time dress with thick tights and boots.
very nice though.
i like the other one too.

beanieb i like the 1st one alot but the other 2 links are not working just goes t the homepage.

years ago i went to a wedding in april wearing a summer dress, sandles, linen jacket and straw hat. it snowed. and i wasnt half as cold as the bride in her strapless dress and frozen bony white shoulders ( no fake bake then)

sorry to be the voice of doom reason

KristinaM · 09/02/2009 19:25

do you mean the jade green top and patterend skirt? its lovely

maybe with boots and a thermal vest ( only joking).

VERY cute kids BTW

SongBirdOfPrey · 09/02/2009 19:33

Pistaachio wow thats lovely, lovely colour really suits you.

Mine's in Oxfordshire. Pistachio, if you have a smart coat to wear over the top and thermal undies and a nice woolly hat then that should be fine.

Northernlurker · 09/02/2009 19:46

Pistachio - gorgeous children!!

Nice outfit too btw

Thinking about it I've been to three April weddings:

  1. Easter Saturday - wore purple trouser suit over sleeveless top. Chucked it down with rain and was FREEZING so very glad to have the jacket.

  2. Late April - sunny but cool - black trousers and jacket (so shoot me) over long sleeved top.

  3. Early April long skirt and long sleeved top. Weather -dry but freezing cool.

My aunt is getting married in May - think I might recycle the above mentioned skirt or a wrap dress from last years wedding attendance.

spugs · 11/02/2009 16:55

spugs · 11/02/2009 16:56

really like this as well but not sure its very weddingy! i have a wedding in august as well but its in a field so i reckon a shorts and wellies for that one

Snufflebufty · 11/02/2009 17:18

April in Aberdeen last year was fantastically sunny. I was off on maternity leave, which was spent mostly sitting in the garden and gave me a brilliant t-shirt tan in time for going into labour.
