Finding 'spring'/'light'clothes??

I need new clothes!

(well, don't we all, but I really need new clothes). I seem to have changed shape a bit since having kids; have reconciled myself to the fact that the last few pounds are going to take a major effort to shift and I don't have the energy - and anyway, most of my wardrobe is falling apart/very old/generally not suitable.

I'm not very good at clothes; have had my colours done twice (second time was part of a prize) and am 'spring' or 'light spring'. Trouble is, when I wander round the shops, real or online, I really don't see anything that looks like my colours.

Are any of you springs who have bought things recently who could give me ideas?

thanks a million.

go to debenhams or somehwere where they have a free personal shopper.i have not done this myself but would love to

Which colours are spring and light spring colours?

Are you a "live in jeans" type? Do you need a new wardrobe for work?

If you're not happy with your figure right now then it might not be worth spending lots on new clothes. How about a little update spree in H&M, Peacocks and Primark?

Meant to say...

Agree with MayorNaze about a consultation with a personal shopper. I've not done this myself either but if I was going for an image overhaul I definitely would.

hmm, we have h&m and I think peacocks but not primark. I have to check if debenhams here (in the desert) has a personal shopper. could be a good idea, thanks for that.

the colours are sort of like this trepanrr.tripod.com/24d8115e0.jpg I just don't see those colours anywhere.

and I need work and jeans stuff.

Some really pretty colours on your colour chart. I love the greens and purples.

This top looks a similar to the lilac (2nd colour top line) on your chart and would be fine worn with jeans.

This one is a good match for the purple (3rd colour top line) and again would be good with jeans. The jeans in the link are Topshop Eva jeans. They're a really flattering cut, stretchy but keep their shape and come in lots of colour washes.

All of these Joules tops could have been made for you! They all feature on your colour chart.

A couple of these Peacock tops are close matches too.

Not sure what to suggest workwise. Are you office based?

ooh, you are good. all very nice. wouldn't you have to be v. skinny to wear that peacocks top though?

yes, am office based, but you've already been really helpful thanks

Happy to help. Any excuse to have a nose around the shops.

Just had another look at the Peacocks top and I think if you wore the stretchy band part around your hips in a size large enough so as the rest of the top didn't cling then it would look fine. Although it would probably suit a pear shape more than an apple.
